Volkswagen Tiguan

Looking for a family car but can’t make up your mind? Well, here’s an option that you might find quite interesting. It comes from Volkswagen and is called Tiguan. What this vehicle is capable of? What are its specifications?

Well, check out this post to find out more and see if this car suits you.

The vehicle is both handsome and smart providing enough flash for the cash.

Though it is a late arrival to the SUV market, Tiguan is expected to attract customers luring them away from other options.

The name of the car is said to be a mixture of ‘tiger” and ‘iguana” and the vehicle is based on the same platform used for Golf and Jetta. Though the car makes use of styling elements that Touareg has come up with, it comes with a look that is more upscale and aggressive than its competitors. One downside would be that the car isn’t more spacious.

Its price is however higher (the base Tiguan being available at $23,720).

Volkswagen Tiguan front

Tiguan is a four-door, five-passenger compact crossover that sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder which delivers 200 HP and 206 pf of torque sprinting to 60mph in 7.8 seconds. The vehicle comes in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions. The front-wheel version features either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission whereas the other version comes only with automatic transmission.

The trim levels that are available include LE, SE, SEL and base S. Each of them comes with a great number of features. Some of these versions include a CD player, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, an auxiliary audio jack, cruise control, xenon headlamps, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition/entry, rear defroster, Bluetooth hands-free calling, an eight-speaker touch-screen premium sound system  and full power accessories.

Volkswagen Tiguan side

Among the safety features there’s stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, full-length head curtain airbags and front-seat side airbags. You can also opt for a towing package, a navigation system, rear side airbags and a panoramic sunroof.

The current model comes with high-quality interior and a sleek European design. The cabin features a genuine aluminum trim, soft leather and nice plastics, the car controls being large and well-placed. The front seats are comfortable and come with lots of adjustability.

Volkswagen Tiguan Interior

With only 16.6 cubic feet in the rear and maximum capacity of56.1 cubic feet, the car doesn’t offer too much space, tough.

Now, it’s up to you to decide whether the looks, performance and the comfort are worth paying the price.
