BMW 6 Series

From the beginning, the BMW 6 Series has showcased serious power with its earlier models’ 4.4 V8 (645i) 333bhp, which can reach 62mph from a zero velocity in just 5.6 seconds. Power delivery is seamless and the acceleration maintained within a rev range. Eventually another option was made with a six-cylinder 3.0 V6 (360i).

Although not as powerful as the 4.4 V8, it could still reach the 62mph in just 6.3 seconds. The 4.4V8 was then upgraded to a 4.8 V8 (650i), providing a smooth, seamless drive that performed similarly to the 4.4 V8. A diesel engine was also added to give a faster time from the 630i (6.3 seconds).

This diesel option boasts of a great in-gear performance, low down pulling power, and affordable running costs.

In terms of design, the BMW 6 Series sports a 74mm increase in length and a 39mm increase in width compared to its second 2011-generation model. The overall look is much sleeker, sporting a long bonnet, a long wheelbase, and a rear-biased cabin that stun in terms of visuals. The profile is able to include the four doors into the Gran Coupe, boasting of an elegant aesthetic despite the 113 mm addition to the wheelbase.

The BMW 6 Series emphasizes its brand with its LED daytime running light and headlamps design. Other standout designs are seen in the prominent surround and the upright kidney grille. The design even protects itself during a frontal collision by having the long bonnet pop up. When shifting into the convertible, the 6 series’ folding roof is separated from the folding roof.

Better ventilation can be established by lowering the roof instead of having the side window open. But you can also still have the hood up even while roof is down to lessen the buffeting. The 6 series certainly boasts of a design that is flexible in function and form.

The ride and drive experience is made seamless and smooth with the BMW 6 Series’ poise and agility. Sports suspension lets you run through complicated, twisted routes, while still empowering you with enough grip and accurate steering for sharp, sudden, and crazy turns. Brake options include an Active Steering that enables sharp driving for A and B roads.

Gearbox options include the optional Sports Automatic transmission, a sequential manual gearbox, or the standard six-speed manual.

The BMW 6 Series interior treats every kind of driver and passenger to luxurious amounts of spaceat least in the front seats. It’s a worthy compromise for luggage space that can handle 350 litres even with the soft storage sleeve kept away and the roof left up. High-set front seats are the consequence for the underfloor strengthening seen in larger convertibles, causing you to adjust it to the bottom for a lower seating position.

Unfortunately the BMW 6 Series sports little improvements from its predecessor, the 5-series. A similar architecture made familiar by BMW#39;s large rear wheel drive cars doesn#39;t really distinguish the 6-series from its related models. Anyone after a significant improvement in all aspects might be deterred from this lag in innovation.

Owners of the 5-series will probably prefer sticking to their current vehicle.
