For a brand with a great motor racing tradition, the creation of production sports cars is only natural. And for Alfa Romeo it is also a calling, an intense passion that has existed for many years.

Alfa Romeo GTV is the quintessential sports coupe. Designed to satisfy even the most demanding motorist, its engines give exceptional performance, its roadholding is perfect, and its handling is sure and enjoyable.

Engines

Alfa GTV mounts powerful, state of the art engines, including the mighty 240 BHP 3.2 V6 24-valve and the innovative 165 BHP 2.0 JTS, as well as the classic 150 BHP 2.0 Twin Spark 16-valve.

Engines offering performance worthy of a true sports car.

2.0 Twin Spark 16v

2.0 Twin Spark 16V (1970 cc, 150 BHP- EEC, 215 km/hr)

Sums up Alfa`s expertise in Twin Spark technology. Outstanding performance sees the car`s 150 BHP generate a top speed of 215 km/hr and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 8.5 seconds. Meanwhile the quietness of the engine and acoustic comfort are surprising: the use of two counter rotating balancing shafts ensures perfect vibration control.

This engine complies with the Euro 3 standard.

2.0 JTS

2.O JTS (1970 cc, 165 BHP- EEC, 220 Km/hr)

Alfa Romeo`s innovative direct injection petrol engine also offers stupendous performance.

It is the first petrol engine in which the injectors work directly in the combustion chamber. The engine uses lean burn combustion up to 1500 rpm (more air and less fuel), while at higher speeds the combustion mixture becomes stoichiometric (i.e. with a normal 14.7:1 ratio between the two components).

The benefits include lower fuel consumption and a generous increase in power output and particularly torque compared to other direct injection petrol engines currently available: 165 BHP at 6400 rpm and a specific power output of more than 82 BHP/l. And it achieves all this while conforming to the stringent Euro 4 limits on emissions. Mounting this engine, the Alfa Romeo GTV can reach a top speed of 220 km/hr, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 8.4 seconds and take 29.2 seconds to cover a kilometer from a standing start.

3.2 V6 24 V

3.2 V6 24 V (3179 cc, 240 BHP-EEC, 255 Km/hr)

24 valves, six cylinders, and a V structure, with a stroke reaching 78 mm. Developing 240 BHP at 6200 rpm and with a torque curve that reaches 289 Nm at 4800 rpm, the 3.2 V6 can propel the Alfa GTV along at a sensational 255 km/hr, making it the fastest production car in the history of Alfa Romeo. It takes 6.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100, and 25.8 seconds to cover a kilometer from a standing start. Record-setting performance, for a really thrilling drive on any road.

But it is also perfect for daily use, because it responds promptly even at low speeds.
