Can A 2013 Nissan Titan Overshadow The Competition

Simply put, no it cannot. The reason the foreign full-size that changed the way we think about foreign truck manufacturers entering U.S. soil is not going to outdo Toyota, Ford, Dodge, Chevy, bla, bla, bla is because the Titan will continue to keep the same powertrain and exterior styling and will remain unchanged as a 2013 Titan.

The reason being is that Nissan has been hit with engineering delays across the board and have had to use all their engineering power and place it towards the vehicles like the 2013 Nissan Altima and 2013 Nissan Maxima. The reason being is that these vehicles are sold globally and have a higher rate of sales so Nissan figures that they can hold out one more year before the introduction of the redesigned second-generation 2014 Nissan Titan.

The 2014 Nissan Titan looks to be a promising full-size truck as the word is it will be obtaining several different engine options. For the full-size truck market we see that every single manufacture is working to offer the most miles per gallon while still offering a full-size truck with all its capabilities. We have already seen the popularity Ford’s F-150 Ecoboost as it offers the V8 power from a turbocharged six cylinder engine.

The truck gets 23 miles per gallon for 2012 but it looks to be a boosted up with a possible new transmission design for 2013. We have seen this Dodge will introduce an eight speed transmission in the Ram 1500 as well as the new Penstar engine which will look to get around 300 hp as well as around 25 miles per gallon on the highway. What will be interesting to see is how 2014 Nissan Titan will stack up against the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra is being introduced with efficiency as well as power in mind.

2013 Nissan Titan Needs A Redisign

Word from the Nissan corporate is that 2014 Nissan Titan will have several different engine options that offer a high output cylinder engine that looks to more than likely be turbocharged engine connected to a six or seven speed automatic. Nissan looks to be utilizing direct injection technology in the engines there will be a smaller leader V8 engine that will offer more power than the current model as well as more efficiency.

These both seem to be great options on paper but would really stuck with me is the fact we mentioned the “D” word. It seems as though we might actually get the 2014 Nissan Titan diesel (Dammit Why Not 2013 Nissan Titan ). If this is the case then I will go bat shit crazy because a diesel from Nissan is bound to offer tons of stump pulling goodness as well as offer much better fuel economy.

With the bright engineers at Nissan I would not expect anything less than 30 miles per gallon with a diesel in around 400 foot-pounds of torque. And rumor has it that there will be a Nismo addition that will take on the very powerful Ford Raptor.
