Alfa Romeo GTV Review

Alfa Romeo GTV The GTV was released to the press in 1995 at the Geneva motor show. From the start it was designed by Pininfarina with a Spider version running in parallel, the car took many cues from the 1991 Alfa Romeo Proteo. The Proteo was a two seater coupe based on the Alfa Romeo 164 floor pan and used a 260 bhp version of Alfa’s stunning V6 24V 3.0 litre engine. The GTV however is based on a very highly modified Fiat Tipo floor pan, in fact the only similar parts left are the floor, front bulkhead and the two chassis rails either side of the engine. The cars lines are very aggressive the crease line from flows down from the rear window down the door and along the edge of ...

1972 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Review

Alfa Romeos are by their very nature a true driver’s car and a must-do experience for any serious petrol head. An Alfa Romeo GTV from the 1970’s is a very good place to enjoy that experience providing not only the distinctive raspy exhaust, but also bark from its twin Dellorto carburettors. These cars are gorgeous, with cutesy good looks complimented by the masculinity provided by the over-sized tyres that completely fill the arches. Sit in and you face the trademark thin rimmed wooden steering wheel and sunken round dials for speed, rpm, fuel and water temperature. Getting comfortable is not easy with a seating position that demands you have longer than average arms and shorter than average ...

An impressive 450,000 of all variants were sold between 1972-84. A Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed GT/GTV coupe quickly followed in 1974, and made quite an impact upon ...

Alfa Romeo GTV / Spider | Car-Catalog.com

( 1995 – 2006) The Alfa Romeo GTV / Spider sports car was produced between 1995 and 2006. It was available as a GTV coupe or Spider roadster. It’s successor is the Alfa Romeo Brera . It is powered by a wide range of engines. The 2.0-liter direct-injection petrol JTS engine delivers 165 hp and gives a respectable turn of speed. It will lunge forward in any of its six gears and cracks the 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint in 6.5 seconds. Unfortunately vehicle’s sharp steering is unsettled and dull. On dry, smooth roads there’s reasonable ...
