I had the twin of that machine was my 2005 Prairie 700, Suzuki borrowed the design they were working there for awhile. The belts for a very long time, and the is perfect from the factory. You need a clutch puller to a belt if you ever need to as it is on very tight.

The belt comes on every 100 miles you to check your belt, and to reset the belt light. I that quad, and if you need resetting the light just on the Kawieforums for the procedure if you decide to buy it. It switching two connectors in that and cycling the key to reset it.

The best mod for that engine is to a DG5 module from Diamond G.

will not only make the atv much quicker and faster a … stop, but also it run cooler also, and the fan will run less because of it. Don’t your money on a Dynatek CDI unless you planned on doing engine mods as by itself it little to nothing as I tried route myself before the

The rear suspension and rear on these are very good, the shock is a reservoir piggyback and the brake is a wet sealed brake. The struts are ok, but it really needed a-arms to make it steer and better in the front, but like I they still work and still put my 420’s front end to Remember this is the machine all the racers used for years in racing.

The two biggest downfalls to this are the Kawasaki electronic braking you can not switch to 4wd after getting in 2wd as the machine has to be rolling the front to switch into 4wd. The braking system was why I finally up selling my quad as I had to replace the not once, but twice.

The first one was under warranty as I bought it and the second one I had to buy and it was close to 300.00, and my only had 700 miles on it. Even one started to act up, and I took that one and cleaned and adjusted it myself a thread I found on Kawie and took parts from my two to make it work again. they act up the 2wd/4wd lights flashing giving you a code and at time you cannot use 4wd or have braking until it is fixed.

They do offer a module Diamond G to bypass that if you to and then put a KFX700 side on the machine to look right to do with the electronic braking. the belt being as tight as it is, and the as good as they are you could get with it in tight woods by running in Low range to keep the engaged. It still goes fast just in low range so its no big if your in tight trails

The choke cables are known to issues also, and the thumb is stiff having two carbs but you get to that. All in all, if it is in good and the price is right I wouldn’t to get it, or another one for myself. I still myself for selling that and getting my 420. yes it’s much more of a machine,,sorry i say it like it is.

I just got ticked off at the electrical finally and stuck it in the front for sale, and sold it in a day. I that big v-twin torque and as it was untouchable by anything else out back in it’s time. It will pull with a new in a drag race despite the big hp Canam claims.

The engine has of torque, and never runs out of will be smiling from ear to ear if you to get it. if you do,,get that Dg5 module, and stock size 25 radial stock rubber will you on wet grass as this quad the tires loose at over and you will have allot of fun up most sport quads in races, and still having a 4wd for the stuff.
