Skoda Superb Review by Expert

Skoda Superb ; the full sized luxury saloon, is one of the most premium product by Czech Republic based auto maker Skoda Auto in India. The five-door and five-seat vehicle was initially launched in the year 2004. The luxury sedan received an affectionate response from the Indian elite class of car buyers, as at that time there was no alternate to Mercedes Benz.

In the year 2008, an all-new upgraded Superb was presented at Geneva Motor Show, after which it saw its India launch and from there it never turned back. Currently, it is made available in three engine choices of 1.8L (Petrol TSI), 2.0L (Diesel TDI) and a mammoth 3.6L (Petrol FSI).While the launch of a new low-cost variant ‘Superb Ambition’ it has now stretched its array very well to challenge recently launched New Hyundai Sonata in the country.

Skoda Superb is an epitome of luxury that integrates a perfect blend combination of exceptional engineering and styling at its best. The front gets hold of you by means of its bold appearance and attractive wrapped around bi-xenon headlamps with AFS that carry sharp edges sweep-ed in upward direction. Whereas, the front chrome bordered black grille is ‘more’ of a ‘Cadillac’ with impressive chrome ‘Skoda crest’, that speaks about its royal approach.

The broader and elevated stance reminds you about the likes of Volkswagen Passant and Skoda Laura, well it will, as it shares similar platform. The sides have smooth and elegant cues flowing around along with rear that bestows a polished and clean surface with one of best looking tail lamps, last but not the least, the sunroof/moon roof is just fascinating to watch, and use too.

The interior screams sheer luxury and roominess. In the cabin one would find rich tones of shade combined with quality textures and finished ‘real’ chrome makes you go gaga over it. The centre console at the front looks modish with premium finish and wood inserts at the dashboard.

The driver and co-driver seats are extremely supportive and power assisted with 12-way adjustable function together with ample legroom, head room and shoulder room, with this, one won’t find more luxurious seating (with Nappa leather upholstery) at least in this class. Other exquisite feature of this incredible beauty comprise of a touch screen display at the centre that controlsunbelievably–the whole lot, from CD-changer and Radio to advanced GPS navigation system to phone.

Safety and security features provided here are, as if to protect a ‘king’ in the fort and not mere occupants. There are as many as 8-airbags, active front head restraints along with long list of passive features that includes ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) to HHC (Hill Hold Control) and TCS (Traction Control System). The security fleet of characteristics consists of engine immobilizer with floating code, security code for infotainment and much more contemporary aspects that you could think of in the recent times.
