Yesterday, my car would not shift out of Before I called a tow truck or it to the dealership, I decided to check

I got the idea below. So I managed to get it out of and into gear, went to then took it to the dealership. The guy he never heart of the problem and he he would have to take the gear box apart. To which I The GM bulletin said change the switch first, then at the brake transaxle shift (BTSI) solenoid.

To which he said he would go He did, and went in, and came out and the brake light and the diagnostic So he said that I should the car and come back the next day they didn’t have the In total he quoted 75 dollars. I the car, they dropped me off at I came back the next day they changed the brake and guess what, I was right.

So instead of having to do what like hundreds of dollars and repairs it cost me, 59 dollars.

The is, if something is wrong with you car or else, it doesn’t necessarily to do a little bit of research.

For the short you can get the car out of park using the shifter Near the shifter there is a that says release. You pop off the key cover there, and then you can use a screwdriver (or the special release key came with the car) to down in that spot, you to freely move the shifter.

To actually fix the problem, believe it or not all I had to do was the brake switch (a cheap $5 I found that out by accident I realized my brake lights not going on. I replaced the brake and then magically my shifter was not anymore.

It’s been 5 months now and the never happened again. I what happens is when the switch is faulty, the car is not recognizing you are stepping on the brakes, and therefore not let you shift out of park (after you can not shift out of park unless foot is on the brakes). This total sense since I had the problem shifting the car out of park once I would get it out of park the car shift normally.

So to sum it up, I am pretty sure all you need to do is the brake switch.
