Seat Leon

The SEAT Leon has models ranging from an eco model to the Cupra R powered by a variety of petrol and diesel engines.

Petrol power units include 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre TSI units as well as three 2.0-litre turbos, while diesel options offer a variety of oil burners including a 1.6-litre that can be specified in SEAT’s Ecomotive trim.

The latest SEAT Leon five-door family hatchback was created at the company’s technical centre in Martorell.

The Leon is built at the SEAT factory in Martorell, near Barcelona .

The SEAT Leon measures 4,315mm from nose to tail, while the width is 1,768mm and the height

1,455 mm. The wheelbase measures 2,578mm with front and rear tracks measuring 1,535mm and 1,511mm respectively.

The SEAT Leon’s boot capacity is 341 litres with the split folding rear seats in place.

The SEAT Leon is powered by a choice of five petrol and three turbodiesel engines with three transmissions available including five and six-speed manuals, plus a six-speed DSG automatic/sequential manual with paddle shifts.

The SEAT Leon Ecomotive model has a 105PS, 1.6-litre TDI CR engine with a diesel particulate filter.

The petrol range is made up of engines including a 1.4-litre 85PS, a 1.2-litre TSI 105PS, a 1.4-litre TSI 125PS, a 2.0-litre TSI 211PS and a 2.0-litre TSI 265PS.

The SEAT Leon’s diesels include a 1.6-litre TDI CR 105PS, a 2.0-litre TDI 140PS and 2.0-litre TDI CR 170PS.

The SEAT Leon is available with speed-sensitive electro-mechanical power assisted steering.

The model range consists of S, S Copa, SE, SE Copa, FR, FR+, FR+ Supercopa and Cupra R.

The SEAT Leon’s equipment specification includes air conditioning, electrically-operated front windows, electrically-adjustable door mirrors, MP3-compatible CD player with AUX-in socket, front, side and head airbags, an electronic stability programme and emergency brake assistance plus anti-lock brakes with traction control.

The SEAT Leon’s safety specification includes six airbags as well five three-point seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchoring points, volumetric alarm and electronic rolling code immobiliser depending on the model.

The SEAT Leon’s exterior has a prominent grille containing the SEAT logo and a chrome surround, framed by the headlamps. The front wheel arches form the starting point of the Leon’s Dynamic Line which goes across the front and rear doors finishing at the rear wheels.

The SEAT Leon as a raked windscreen and roof line that curves downwards toward the rear.

The rear door handles are hidden in the door frames and there is a spoiler and third brake light.

The rear end has elongated rear light clusters with the ‘S’ symbol in the centre of the hatch doubling up as the boot release handle.

The SEAT Leon’s multi-function steering wheel, lights mechanism and climate control system are highlighted in galena silver with the same colour found on the ventilation bezels. The exception to this is the entry-level and S Copa versions which have a combination of grey and black.

The Leon’s centre console contains the hazard warning light controls, ESP disconnect and a row of buttons for switching off the parking sensor.
