Today on our 2005 Pontiac Vibe, well be test fitting the Thule Square Load Bar System using the 50 inch bars with part number THLB50 and the Thule Crossroad Roof Mounted Roof Railing Foot Pack, part number TH450. With our roof rack assembled according to the instructions, well begin our test fit by placing the front bar onto the front part of our roof. Well go ahead and set the bar, so our foot packs are in place around our side rails.

Since we dont have very much side rail to work with, well go ahead and scoot our foot packs all the way up to the front. Well find a fixed point on the side rails to align our feet and then we can check for even bar overhang on each side of our vehicle. Well take the strap, bring it around the bar back into the foot pack and use the included tool to tighten it in place.

Today on our 2005 Pontiac Vibe, well be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number TH599XTR. With a Thule Square Load Bar System assembled onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the Big Mouth directly onto our bars. Here at the front, well bring the clamp around the front bar, drop the T-bolt through the appropriate slot and use the wing nuts to tighten in place. Well do this for both sides at the front platform to secure the front of our bike rack.

At the rear well loosen up the wing nut and bring our bracket around our rear bar. Well drop the bolt through the hole in the bracket and tighten both the wing nuts.

Today, on this 2009 Pontiac Vibe, we will be installing Curt hitch part number 12228. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the drivers side frame rail. As you can see here at the end of the frame. we have got two existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide our two attaching points on the drivers side for our trailer hitch.

We will be attaching the hitch to the weld nuts using the 12mm bolts and conical tooth washer. And on the passenger side, we will be using the same two weld nuts and same bolt washer combination. Over here on the passenger side, you will need to lift the hitch up over the exhaust. 0:31

This is a hitch on a 2004-05 Pontiac Vibe. This one has preexisting fasteners in the frame right here, which in this case are a little bit corroded out. So, we will have to clean them out first with a bolt and some WD-40 to run through so we can fasten the hitch on.

We already sprayed down the bolt. Then we are just going to run the bolt a little bit and then back them up. Put a little bit more in and go at it again.

Just keep going at it until the bolt starts to spin freely, like it is doing now. You probably will not have to worry about much like that. One down, three to go. Work on the other two. Sometimes they do not go in right off the bat.

And once you get the bolt half way in, it backs out pretty easy. Chances are you are pretty much down with that part.

Pontiac Vibe Questions and Answers

Rola Roof Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier, # 59600, will fit roof rack # 59721 for the 2010 Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix. The overall width of the carrier is the important figure at about 30 inches. The mounting feet are in a couple of inches on each side so approximately 24 inches from center to center.

The bars on the Rola roof rack are more than long enough to mount the carrier.

Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, however to optimize efficiency you would want to use the largest transmission cooler available, and mount in the optimal place on your vehicle. The most efficient mounting position is considered to be between the grille and the AC condenser core. Considering the space that is available for you to mount a transmission cooler is most likely limited on your 2006 Pontiac Vibe I recommend either the Derale 9000 Plate and Fin Transmission Cooler # D136

There are a few factors to consider when determining the best and safest way to carry bikes while towing a pop up camper at the same time. You have to consider the tongue weight of the trailer, the amount of bikes you wish to carry, and if there will be interference between the loaded bikes and trailer when making turns. The design of the pop up camper is also an issue. If it has an A/C unit on the roof, or anything that could possibly interfere with a rack or the installation of a rack, you

The Hidden Hitch trailer hitch that will fit your 2004 Pontiac Vibe is # 60898. The T-one Flat Trailer Wiring for your vehicle is the Tow Ready # 118458. If you need a ball, I recommend either the Tow Ready # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.

I have attached brief installation videos as well as installation instructions for both products. The video is on a 2005 Vibe.

For a roof rack, I recommend the Yakima system using the following parts: 48 inch crossbars, # Y00408 RailGrab Towers, # Y00138 This will provide a 24 inch bar spread which is compatible with the SportRack cargo box # SR7095. The box is 54 inches long so if you measure from near where the front bar would be and then back 54 inches that would be a little further back than the back of the box would be. Without a crossbar installed and the box mounted it is difficult to determine if the

The SportRack Vista cargo box # SR7018 will fit on crossbars that are no wider than 4 inches and on a center to center crossbar spread of 23-5/8 inches to 34 inches. You will need to measure your crossbars to determine if it will fit based on the measurements I have provided here. Depending on where the antenna is placed on the roof and how high it sticks up, it may or may not be in the way. The box is 63 inches long and based on images I have seen of the vehicle the antenna is at the center

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24812 that you referenced is confirmed to fit all models of the 2003 Pontiac Vibe so it should work very well for you. I attached an install video and instructions for you to check out also. To complete your towing setup you may be interested in the following items: Trailer wiring # 118458 (install video attached) Ball Mount # 3593 1-7/8 inch ball # 19256 2 inch ball # 19258

The best option I could give you would be to get a Draw-Tite 20×48 Cargo Carrier # 6500, and then get a Draw-Tite Bike Adapter # 6505. This cargo carrier will fit in 1-1/4 inch hitches and the bike adapter is confirmed to fit this carrier. For a hitch you could get a Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch # 60898.

This hitch is confirmed to fit on your 2005 Pontiac Vibe and would do well with the # 6500. We do not carry that Rage carrier, but it would not be the right carrier for you since it is for 2

The Dutton-Lainson # DL11002 winch you referenced has no minimum load requirements, and has a 40:1 gear ratio.

Since you would be right at capacity I do recommend taking any measures feasible in lightening the load. That will make it that much easier on the vehicle. I do believe that properly equipped, the 2009 Pontiac Vibe will be fine towing the 1,500 pounds.

Since you will not constantly be towing it up a steep ramp, and that aspect is only a small part of the journey, the Vibe should be just fine. For a trailer hitch, you can use # C12221 but it is for GT models. If you have a GT model then this i

We have many bike racks that will fit on a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. The two different styles would be a trunk bike rack and a hitch bike rack. The trunk design bike rack will use straps to clamp to the rear hatch of your vehicle.

A hitch design bike rack will insert into a hitch on your vehicle so it will require a hitch to be installed on your vehicle. For a trunk bike rack I would recommend the Yakima KingJoe Pro 2 Bike Rack, part # Y02624. This bike rack has lot of extra features like the one p

The Yakima RocketBox Pro 12 Cargo Box, part # Y07191, is a fitment for your 2005 Pontiac Vibe using the Yakima RailGrab roof rack on the factory side rails. It requires a cross bar spread of 24 to 32 inches. It does list that the roof mounted antenna may need to be removed for installation of a cargo box.

This cargo box is the shortest of the three RocketBox designs (Pro 11, Pro 12, Pro 14) for your vehicle. Using the 30 inch cross bar spread you have right now will work, but you will want to

In my research, I found that the Vibe has a 1500 lb towing capacity. Your vehicle should have no problem towing your camper. Because the only hitches available for a non-GT model Vibe are Class I hitches, you will be limited to 200 lb of tongue weight. Tongue weight is the amount of downward force applied to the hitch ball.

You will need to make sure that the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer does not exceed that 200 lb figure. I will link you to an FAQ article that

I promise not to try to sell you a new car, only what you will need to flat tow the Vibe. The information below is complimentary. If you have an automatic transmission and the vehicle is front wheel drive, you will need to use a tow dolly and I will cover that later. If it is an automatic and all wheel drive it must be towed on a trailer, it cannot be flat towed or carried on a dolly.

Now if you a manual transmission you can flat tow it. For all of the above information consult the vehicle ow

The Yakima KingJoe Pro, # Y02625, will fit your2007 Pontiac Vibe. There are numerous bike racks that will fit and I have included a link to them for you. If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the bike adapter bar # Y02531, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level.

I have included a link to a video showing how the adapter works.

The Rhino-Rack SXBS Roof Rack for Raised Factory Side Rails, part # SXBS4-SILV, you have referenced, is a correct fit for your 2006 Pontiac Vibe with the factory installed side rails. These roof rack crossbars have an elliptical shape which will make them very aerodynamic and help reduce drag and cut down on wind noise. To carry two 45-lb kayaks on the roof of your Pontiac Vibe you will want to first check the weight capacity of the roof on your vehicle. If it is lower than the 175-lb weight

First, make sure that you do have a Class II trailer hitch on your 2009 Pontiac Vibe. This is very important to determine the best cargo carry for you. There should be a sticker on the hitch itself that will list the Class and/or the capacity. If the tongue weight capacity is greater than 200 pounds, then it is a Class II hitch.

The towing capacities of the vehicle should be listed in the owners manual in the towing section. You will need to look at the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle t

I checked with Thule and the Gateway 2 Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier # TH9006XT that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2009 Pontiac Vibe. I have linked you to a demonstration video featuring the Gateway bike rack. The best way to prevent theft of a trunk mounted bike rack is to have it installed only when you are transporting bikes and then remove it when you are parked and are away from your vehicle. Any time an accessory like a bike rack is in direct contact with a painted portion of the

For the Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 60958, the included ball mount requires a ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank. For a 1-7/8 inch ball you can use # 19256, and for a 2 inch ball, use # 19258. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical isntallation of the hitch for you.

There are several parts you will need to add electric brakes to a trailer. First, you need to replace the idler hubs with a hub and drum assembly. The hub and drum assembly that you need will depending on the bearing numbers stamped into the metal of the inner and outer bearings. I have included a link to a video that will help.

After you have determine the correct hub and drum assemblies, finding the other parts will be easy. Since you already have a brake mounting flange, you will not need

Having the cargo bag, # TH846, between the rails would be ideal, but it can also sit on top of the bars. If you can place it between the bars, make sure the bottom of the bag and the roof are clean to avoid scratching the paint. I have included a link to a video review of the bag for you.

The item you selected, SportRack Aero XL Cargo Box, part # A900275, is designed to fit a wide range of aftermarket and OEM crossbars. Part # A900275 will fit your Pontiac Vibe if the diameter of your crossbars are 4 inches or less, and if the spread between the 2 crossbars is between 24 and 34 inches. The length of the box is 63 inches, you should measure the length of your roof to determine if you would have any overhang. You might want to measure from the antenna forward on your roof also s

The Curt Roof Cargo Basket # C18115 will mount to most factory and aftermarket roof racks. You will just need to make sure that the spacing between the crossbars on your 2009 Pontiac Vibe is at least 15 inches. If you do not have a roof rack with cross bars that run from one side to the other check out the link I attached that shows all of the different roof racks we have available for you vehicle. You will want to select what roof style you have and you will be taken to a page that has all o

Sure, the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118458, for your 2006 Pontiac Vibe, will work great with the Oval L.E.D. Brake Light Trailer Hitch Cover, # CR-017.

The SportRack Aero XL Cargo Box – Roof Mount, part # A90275, will fit on Thule square load bars, Yakima round crossbars and most factory bars, but you will want to measure the diameter of your factory cross bars on your 2007 Pontiac Vibe. This cargo box will only fit factory crossbars that are 4 inches or less in diameter. The measurements on the U-Bolt that are used to attach the cargo box to the crossbars is 4 inches wide and 2 inches deep in the center of the bolt. We have plenty of ca

The closest side marker lens that I will have to the 2-13/16 inches x 2-1/8 inches size that you have listed is the Optronics Replacement Side Marker Lens, part # A9RB. It measures 2-3/4 inches by 2 inches and the distance between the mounting holes is 2-5/16 inches. I am including a picture of the measurements on the lens.

I also have the Optronics Side Marker Lens, part # AL9RB, which is the same size as the # A9RB lens. but it is for use with a LED trailer light. Both of these side mar

There are 2 possible trailer wiring options for your 2005 Pontiac Vibe GT. The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118458, that you have referenced would be the easiest to install. It has 3 sets of connectors and a ground wire. The 3 sets of connectors simply plug in line with your vehicle tail lights.

The ground wire gets connected to a bare metal surface or existing ground point. To get access to the connection points, you will need to remove the rear cargo area floor panel (as if going

Actually the Rola Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # 59507, that you referenced will work on a Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch like you have on your 2009 Pontiac Vibe without the use of an adapter. So either this carrier or the Thule Cargo Carrier, part # TH665C, would work well for you. I included review videos for both of these products below for you to check out also to help you decide which one would work best for you. I also included a comparison page below that shows these cargo carriers side

The SportRack Explorer Cargo Box, # A90095, is a semi-universal fit item made to fit as many roof racks as possible. As long as the crossbars on your 2003 Pontiac Vibe are less than 4 inches thick, the box will fit. I have included a link to the installation details and a video review for reference.

Thule has numerous cargo boxes that are listed as a direct fit to the factory crossbars on your 2003 Pontiac Vibe. One example that has the same 18 cubic feet of storage as the box you have refere

The only note in the actual instructions for Curt Trailer Hitch, # 12234, are for a different vehicle on which this hitch also fits. However, we have found that it is possible that the heat shield in question will need to be trimmed using aviator shears. Heat shields are thin pieces of metal that help to dissipate heat from the exhaust.

Trimming a portion will not negatively affect the performance of the vehicle and the process is actually very easy. I have included a link to the installation
