D40 Review

revised its Navara D40 model up in February 2012 to keep up the new model launches in the Ute segment. The D40 is well into its model cycle now, but has the advantage of the powerful engine in the segment.

The D40 range now starts at around RDAP for the RX 4X2 Dual cab pickup to a staggering $67,882 (approx) for the STX 550 Dual Cab 4#215;4.

There are 4 model variants, two driveline versions, three cab and two body styles. The Navara has a two different engines that different power offerings on what model they are in. are also 4 different transmissions on

The pick of the engines is the Class-leading / 170kW@3,750rpm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel mated to a 7 speed auto While this is powerful it is thirsty with fuel at 9.3L/100Km

There is also a more 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo engine producing 450Nm @ and 140kW @ 4,000rpm. This also has a variant that 106Kw in the entry level

Internally the Navara D40 seems a dated and there doesn#8217;t to be as much room for the rear However that is all forgiven driving on road with beautiful powerful V6 diesel.

Nissan increased the spec for 2012 including standard kit on the 4WD ST dual cab include 17-inch wheels, six airbags, 60/40 seats, three child-seat points, dual-zone air conditioning, of six-speed manual or five-speed and USB connectivity.

The Navara D40 can tow up to 3,000kg a towball rating of 300kg. the powerful engine doesn#8217;t mate perfectly with the 7 transmission and while you really feel the weight of what you are the transmission can hunt between the on occasions. The other important to note is that the towball is dependent on what load the ute has on

The Nissan Navara D40 is a worthy in the congested dual cab market While it is a little dated now to the latest releases, it still has a lot for it, not the least a sterling reputation for off road and while towing. If and torque are your thing there is not many choices than the STX 550.
