Hi,

Thinking of getting a Nissan Caravan 2007/2008 Auto for family and domestic use and wanted to get some views on this. Seems to be quite powerful with a 3Litre Intercooler Turbo Diesel engine. Some say this vehicle is much powerful than the Hiace KDH and also more hardy.

– Have seen a few around from 4.5 to 5.5 mil mark (DX to VX) models. Is this about the right price for this vehicle? With the new tax increase?

– What is the difference between the DX and the VX? Is it somehting like the DX and GL in Hiace? Anything particular we should be looking at?

– Saw some 4WD versions also and surprised to find that the 4WD is slightly less 50 to 100K cheaper than the 2WD version, whereas it should be more as it is an additional option with a switch which can be engaged / switched on-off when required. I would personally prefer the 4WD option as you can go offroad or would come in handy for those off the beaten paths. I dont see 2WD cabs fetching a higher price than their 4WD counterpaths, hence is there a rational explanation for the 4WD for these being slightly less?

– How much would it cost to fix a Dual A/C to one of these? Also fixing proper adjustable seats and doing up the interior? Also fixing a chrome grill in the front etc.

If anyone has fixed one or done up could share their experience.

Appreciate if anyone could give their views and experience on this.

Hi, I#39;m not so sure about the 2007/08 E25, but I did owned an E24 Nissan Caravan with TD27 Engine few years back. E25 with an 3L Intercooler turbo engine should ne pretty powerful. Both KDH and E25 is 3L but lately Nissan diesel engines got lot more torque than other rivals of them and few more hp extra so the E25 might beat the KDH with power too..but I#39;ve never did a comparison..anyways I preferred the Nissan because it was more comfortable than the Hiace ( I used to own a LH113 as well)

But I do know that the DX is made for commercial use as in Deliveries and can carry extra weight..GL comes with few extra luxury options and made to carry passengers where VX is fully loaded with all the options to carry passengers and more comfortable than the other two.

4WD s are cheaper in SL because they cost a little bit extra to maintain and also will consume a bit more fuel than the RWD model because of the extra weight.

If I were you. I would go for the 4WD version too which will give you bit more ground clearance and bit more off road capability. Still don#39;t expect to do hard offroading on it. It;s still a Van.

Converting to Dual A/C will depend on how you want it to be. I#39;ve seen people doing Line A/C (Thats what they call it) to rear which is having AC vents all the way to the back which they say cools better. It makes sense too, so that will cost you bit extra. better to talk to a technician and get a quote.

If you buy a VX, everything will be done for you from Nissan lot easier. more expensive but nice and neat, better quality than doing it after market and you have a better market price when you are re-selling.
