A. DTC P0507 control system RPM higher expected indicates a problem in the Air Control Actuator (IAC) Here is some information on DTC

Idle Air Control (IAC) Circuit CIRCUIT OPERATION:

The air control (IAC) motor is supplied from the MFI relay 1).

The PCM (terminals 14,15, 28, 29) drives the motor by sequentially turning ON the transistors in the PCM and providing ground to the air control motor (terminals 1, 3, 4, 6).

The amount of air taken in idling is regulated by the opening and of the servo valve located in the air that bypasses the throttle

If there is a malfunction of the IAC system, the engine speed will not be to the target engine speed.

The PCM the difference between the actual speed and the target engine

Check Conditions:

speed has reached 1.5 kph (0.93 or more at least once.

Under the closed loop speed control.

Engine temperature is higher than (171#176;F).

Battery positive is higher than 10 volts.

pressure is higher than 76 kPa (11

Intake air temperature is higher -10#176;C (14#176;F).

60 seconds elapsed from the start of the monitoring.

Target idle air motor position is 0 steps.

Judgment Criteria:

Actual speed has continued to be higher the target idle speed by 200 (300 r/min*) or more for 12 *: Specs in parentheses are applicable if the air temperature during the previous was more than 45#176;C .

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The likely causes for this to be set are):

Idle air control failed.

Open or shorted air control motor circuit, or connector.

PCM failed.

There is a troubleshooting for checking the circuit and pinpointing the but before doing that I recommend cleaning the throttle first. Many times a cleaning will eliminate code.

If not, then the will need to be checked and is causing the problem repaired.
