Mitsubishi FTO

Imported for myself by MVI Services Inc. in February 2003 One previous Japanese owner Manufactured in 1998 Had a full Service History in the UK Was in excellent condition and was a well cared for car For the last year of it’s life it was used as 2nd vehicle, driven only some evenings and weekends! Rare Manual FTO Blue Diamond exhaust system fitted in April 2006 Clutch fitted and gearbox rebuilt in October 2005

Was never used on track or race day etc.

About the FTO:

Having driven an FTO owned by a friend back in 2000 I decided then that this was the car I really wanted. A few years later and my current car at the time was up for sale and I had contacted MVI Services in Japan and asked them to find an FTO for me. I was very specific about what I wanted and it took a long time to find it, however, what I got was an extremely rare and immaculate example of the car I loved.

Mechanics:

Car had a personalized registration plate for most of it’s life to hide true age of vehicle!

Mitsubishi FTO

Interior:

Stainless-steel dial surrounds Blue Speedo dial covers Kenwood DPX-6000MD Double-din head unit, mini-disk and CD player Aluminum Razo pedal covers

Blue front seats Plain back rear seats Mitsubishi leather gear knob Mitsubishi FTO fitted carpet mats Momo leather air bag steering wheel

Security: Gemini Sepri-Star CAT 1 Thatcham Alarm / Immobiliser Remote central locking motors installed (not standard on version R)

ICE: Kenwood DPX-6000MD Double-din CD/mini disk head unit Matched speakers (unsure of exact specification as installed in Japan)

Misc: Gearbox was refurbished 76,500 miles on the clock when it died 🙁

The car also had the usual GP Version R features such as Air Conditioning, Power Steering, electric adjustable mirrors, etc. The car featured the Mitsubishi V6 2.0 litre MIVEC engine providing 200 BHP and just about the best noise you will ever hear. This is the top of the range model, in great condition inside and out!

Sadly, the car died in November 2006 when it was written-off after a nasty road accident near Northampton! It was a sad day for me personally and especially for the poor FTO. R.I.P buddy, you were a fine ride!!
