Mitsubishi Colt

The insides of the Mitsubhishi Colt are up to the comfort level. In terms of the entertainment, the car has CD/DVD and MP3 player along with Bluetooth and USB support. The comfort factor is further enhanced by the air conditioner with climate control feature and the security is taken care by the remote central locking.

The car also has remote fuel filler and the driver’s seat can be manually adjusted.

The dashboard is a no fuss and is quite simple. It has large, clear instruments and buttons which are easy to find and makes the dash board quite practical and functional to use. The steering column is adjustable for height only which is enough for most people to get comfy.

The ‘Elegance’ model features leather seats making way for easy entry and exit out of the car. The seats are absolutely cozy and are ergonomically positioned. The driver front passengers seats are height adjustable and recline with a fully flat function. The steering is encapsulated in leather wrap. The Colt also hosts power windows with one touch open and close function and also comes with an electric sunroof option.

The glove compartment is quite big but does not have any lights.

The Colt also features 2 illuminated cup holders in the centre tunnel, sunvisors with vanity mirrors, central locking including tailgate, front wipers with variable intermittent with washer, rear wipers intermittent with washer, window demister with timer (rear), pollen filter and electrically adjustable heated door mirrors.

Mitsubishi Colt Safety Features

Mitsubishi Colt comes with standard ABS (anti-lock brakes) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) that apportions braking force to each individual wheel for all the variants. Front seat passengers are protected by twin front airbags and from the Elegance model up side airbags are standard.

Additional safety features include seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters for the front seatbelts, two ISOFIX anchors, three three-point seatbelts, three head-restraints in the rear and a deactivation switch for the front passenger airbag. An alarm is an optional extra but will have to wait and see if the Colt will have an immobiliser and deadlocks as standard like its UK contemporaries.

Mitsubishi Colt Colours

The Mitsubishi Colt will come in shades of Cool Silver, Graphite Blue, Spicy Red, Atlantis Blue, Smoked grey, Porcelain white and Sparkling Black.

Mitsubishi Colt Ride and Handling

The Colt is not your power horse but it is not a struggling camel as well. The car does have some tricks up its sleeve with an engaging drive. The car zooms past the chicanes without much trouble and grips well enough. The tall shape does make way for some body lean and the steering provides little feedback. Overall the car rides well on most decent terrains but it lacks the road presence and stability.

The rough roads and sharp bumps are too easily passed on to the occupants by the car.

The cabin does a good job of keeping out most of the external noise. The noise makes its presence felt with the increase in speed, but isn’t a major problem. The 1.1 engine is quite energetic and eager on most occasions while the 1.3 and 1.5 turbo become coarse when extended.
