Lexus shows footage of #8217;pre-fix#8217; and #8217;post-fix#8217; videos of the Lexus GX 460

After getting called out by Consumer Reports regarding the safety hazards that came with the Lexus GX 460. Lexus quickly pulled off a remarkably quick turn-around on the stability issues that plagued the SUV. The same ones that caused Consumer Reports to put the Lexus GX 460 on its do not buy list.

After discovering the problem for themselves, Lexus recalled all of the affected GX 460 models, fixed the problem, and sent the cars back out to their owners. And just to prove that they were completely on top of things, they even came out with a video comparison of what happens to the GX 460 when it makes a sharp turn.

While it wasn#8217;t as exaggerated as what CR described – the car had the potential to roll over – the over steer in the #8217;before#8217; shot caused a quick fish-tail movement in the GX 460, which, if you noticed, was already fixed in the after #8217;shot#8217;. Of course, since this video was made by Toyota (Lexus#8217; parent company), we can#8217;t know for sure if Consumer Reports was exaggerating the problem or if Toyota decided to downplay the problem. This Toyota scenario isn#8217;t exactly far-fetched considering Toyota#8217;s recent decision-making in regards to the inadequacy of their vehicles.

Lexus LS460 by Lorinser

The German tuning house Sportservice Lorinser more often than not finds itself tailoring suits for Mercedes Benz models, but today they are trying a slightly different exercise, one with a little more VIP flare. The Lexus LS 460 is a far cry from the S Class luxury limousines that traditionally find themselves in Lorinser’s garage. No matter what the vehicle, Sportservice Lorinser is up to any task and is capable of getting the most out of any standard design.

Their upgrades to the LS consist mainly of aerodynamic treatments like a redesigned front spoiler and race inspired grill, Lorinser rear wing and new rear apron that frame the new double exhaust tips perfectly. The crown jewels of the Sportservice Lorinser LS 460 are the company’s signature lightweight alloys. The aero kit not only makes the LS look like more of a sports sedan, but it also gives the Japanese luxury car even more style.

For the most part, owners looking to modify their luxury sedans are all about the image being portrayed by their vehicle’s exterior. So for now, Lorinser has decided to leave the 4.6 Liter V8 alone. The factory rated 381 HP are more than enough to take the Sportservice Lorinser from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.7 seconds.

However this will not be the first and last time that the German tuners have a go at the Lexus LS, there will certainly be more to come from Lorinser for this Japanese vehicle in the near future.

Press release after the jump.
