Latest Peugeot News Models

Peugeot keeps making steady, decent but fairly forgettable volume cars – and selling fairly well – but recent hits like the RCZ coupe, 508 saloon, 3008 crossover and 5008 MPV suggest that the French giant may be waking for its recent, rather uninspired, slumber and doing something far more interesting with its new cars.

One half of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, Peugeot builds a range of family cars and light commercial vehicles, sharing platforms and even models with Citroen, such as the 107 city car.

Peugeot is also one of the oldest manufacturers on the market; one which sells particularly well in mainland Europe.

In the Peugeot line-up are a wide range of superminis and small hatchbacks that offer affordable alternatives to some of the more popular models spotted on UK roads.

Peugeot’s small cars focus on practicality and economy over style – Peugeot has won few plaudits for its design over the last decade – and Peugeot’s range has become more efficient thanks to a strong range of diesel engines and an electric addition to its line-up in the form of the iOn electric vehicle (EV) and diesel-electric hybrid technology.

Peugeot reviews and Peugeot ratings for the iOn and 3008 Hybrid4 have been positive – and the manufacturer is pushing into two alternative-fuel markets.

The Hybrid4 engine is a combination of a 2.0-litre HDi unit and a 37bhp electric motor. They combine to create a diesel hybrid drivetrain worth 200bhp but more importantly it returns 74mpg on a combined cycle and emits 99g/km in CO2 emissions.

New Peugeot reviews and new Peugeot ratings

Peugeot’s new frugal e-HDi Micro Hybrids, which utilise a Stop Start system that switches the car’s engine off when idling before switching it back on when the accelerator is applied.

That saves energy and dramatically improves CO2 emissions and fuel economy across its models with some falling below the much sought after 100g/km CO2 threshold.

Top of the tree for the French brand in terms of receiving positive new Peugeot reviews are its small cars, which tend to attract positive Peugeot ratings. However, Peugeot reviews for more recent models have been noticeably stronger.

Peugeot’s RCZ has injected some sexiness back into the brand – along with THP turbo petrol engines, developed with BMW and Citroen that power some of the more performance-orientated models in the Peugeot range.

The new 508 saloon has also won praise for Peugeot, at a time when volume manufacturers are withdrawing from large family cars. The new wave of large family cars – in the shape of the 3008 and 5008 – has also performed strongly for Peugeot.

The French manufacturer’s improvements in emissions and fuel economy have forced Peugeot ratings to improve massively; with Peugeot reviews on the up as well. That trend looks set to continue in any new Peugeot reviews once its new Hybrid4 engine is on sale in the UK.

It’s set to feature on a wide range of models in the long run but is currently available on the popular 3008 crossover SUV and soon to arrive on the 5008; its arrival in more cars are likely to lead to improved Peugeot reviews and Peugeot ratings.
