Up for sale is my 01 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster. It is powered by a 2002 3.8L Supercharged V6 with a 4 speed heavy duty automatic transmission and built on a fully restored 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT Chassis. The engine came from a car that I personally owned and drove for months.

The engine and transmission is in great shape and the car runs very well. You can tell by the pics that there isn’t rust or gunk all over the place. The Donor car was stripped down to the metal and re-coated with high performance urethane.

All the components on the donor car were replaced with new or rebuilt parts. all bushings were replaced with poly urethane bushings, new shocks, struts, springs, hub bearing assembly’s, ball joints, grade 8 bolts, heavy duty steering damper, wheels, tires, rotors, brake calipers, lines, hoses, exhaust components, radiator, auxiliary fans, light bulbs, heater core, and so much more. No 30 year old parts here.

The chassis was lengthened 11 to accommodate the Lamborghini’s wheel base and the suspension mounts were widened accordingly to achieve the correct track width. A very strong and light weight constructed subframe was then welded to the remaining sections of the Fieros’s chassis. The new frame wraps completely around the remaining Fieros chassis.

I believe the chassis is one of the best features of this car. I spent about a year building the chassis alone! The car took a total of 3.5 years and over $35,000 to build.

This is my 3rd Lamborghini Replica I’ve built now so I’ve avoided many of the mistakes that armature builders make however due to the cost that comes with building these cars some things have been left incomplete or require replacement of parts. I do this as a long term hobby and I enjoy it very much, this is my third Lamborghini but I’ve done other cars as well. This car is very beautiful and will attract lots of attention.

These cars are extremely rare and can’t be found almost anywhere. So if your in the market for something unique that can’t be found at just any car lot and stands out this maybe the car for you.

Technical description:

Engine: GM 3800 Supercharged 3.8L V6 (that’s a large V6)The engine came from a car I owned and drove. It was very well maintained and passed smog. There is 129,XXX miles on it.

There’s a minor oil leak coming from the oil pan which is rather common on these. It’s slow enough were I never bothered changing it, I just check the oil level every two weeks.

Transmission: 4 speed automatic 4T65E-HD(heavy duty) this is a much tougher transmission than the Fiero’s manual or automatic. The problem with the Fiero’s transmissions is they are very aged and designed to handle a specific amount of torque so if you keep the original transmission and add a engine with 100+ HP your performance is limited to that transmission.

Exhaust: Custom 3 to dual 2.25 outlets factory catalytic converter with factory O2 sensors in correct location to comply with manufactures smog designs. Manifolds and down pipe heat wrapped to reduce engine compartment temperatures. Exhaust sounds very intimidating.

Definitely a sound to turn heads.

Fuel: Stock fuel components used. Fuel tank and all component including fuel sender, pump, filter and so forth is from a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and relocated to the front of car underneath the trunk compartment for better weight distribution. The fuel tank is surrounded by a steel cage for safety purposes and hold 17.5 gallons!

Cooling system: uses stock Pontiac Grand Prix cooling system with a added pair of auxiliary high performance cooling fans. Included and installed are two 3 core aluminum dual radiator in the rear like the real lamborghini.

The car begins to overheat after about 30 min of driving because there is so little air circulation where the radiator is located (between the firewall and engine) so these 2 extra radiators that are located in the far rear away from the engine need to be piped in to complete the cooling system. 2 New 12 high speed cooling fans will be included! (Car was never run too hot).

Suspension: standard Fiero (replaced all parts with new or rebuilt parts) original mounting points widened for extended track width without the use of wheel spacers. New poly urethane mounts all the way around. The springs are the only thing that need some adjustment here, because of the fuel tank weighing down the front end and the larger heavier engine and transmission in the rear, you will need different springs.

I suggest something between 350-450 lbs/inch and something a few inches shorter in the rear and a few inches extra in the front. Ultimately the hight Is up to you.

Wheels: Z06 Corvette Cray Manta staggered at 17 Front, 18 I have some Lamborghini decals for the rims and some center caps, Which I will include.

Braking: C4 Corvette calipers and rotors 12 and stainless steel bradded lines. The entire breaking system consists of either new or completely built parts! The steel bradded lines allow a faster response to the breaking system.

Climate control: like 99% of all replicas the A/C is not functional needs custom pipes and a drier to work. Most builders don’t complete this because they cannot braze or weld aluminum or make fittings or just don’t know how or what to do the rest just run out of money like myself. If you really want A/C expect to pay around $500 to complete it, assuming you shop around.

Heater works, new heater core and blower motor but needs a longer cable to open the heat door however I have it set up so you can just open and close it. New heater core installed and new hoses and restored heater lines installed as well as blower motor.

Gauges: All Vdo. Clock works, water temperature works, voltage meter works, speedometer, tachometer needs to be wired in, I’m not an expert in wiring and had most of the wiring done for me. Oil pressure and fuel level need to be replaced (fuel gauge not compatible oil gauge was damage when installing)

Interior: Black interior. This car is not about comfort so the bigger you are the tighter a fit it will be. I had my large friend sit in the car to see how bigger guys fit. He is 6′, 1 220lbs and is a competitive body builder he can fit into the car and has driven it around the block.

He said it wasn’t a comfortable fit but he was so excited to be driving such a car that comfort didn’t concern him. There is a insulated compartment behind the passenger seat to keep you drinks cold and a standard compartment behind the driver seat for paperwork and maps. Features 4 point seat belt harnesses which have been bolted to the meat of the frame. The interior is by no means a professional job but its better than most replicas I have seen.

It’s something that you can always remove and replace in the future.

Exterior: Sunshine Yellow (3/4 gallon touch up paint included) this is a garage paint job so it’s not perfect. You might consider repainting.

Glass: the door glass is real Safty glass and the front and rear windows are 1/4 lexan heat formed.

Lighting: All safety lights are functional these include: front and rear L/R turn signals, 3rd brake light, brake lights, running lights, back up lights, emergency flashers, low beams, high beams, fog lights and parking lights. Interior lights are functional as well these include: x4 multifunctional led light bars (7 different colors to set it at) gauge lights and button lights.

Interior electrical: All the following are functional: horn, driver and passenger door lock solenoids, fuel door popper, rear trunk popper, USB ready radio with CD player, x4 speakers x2 250 watt and x2 750 watt speakers. Electric mirrors and replica mirror switch, push start ignition.

For security reasons you still need a key for the original ignition switch to unlock the wheel. That way thrives can’t just hop in and takes off.

Lamborghini Diablo

Front trunk: includes a cutesy light, the space is small but big enough for a gym bag and small items. Ive taken the car down to the gym on several occasions and I this is were I put my gym bag. Carpeted in black and locks with key operated locking pins.

Rear trunk: includes a curtesy light, it is bigger than the front trunk and can hold enough items for a weekend getaway. Carpeted in black and locks automatically. Lock releases by the push of a button.

Targa top: the targa top has been built to withstand tremendous force therefore its heavy and I recommend it to be a two man task when installing and uninstalling to avoid scratching the body. It latches in the front and rear. A release cable unlatches the rear. The front unlatches by hand like the real Lamborghini Diablo Roadster.

I purchased the front latches from Protex which is the manufacturer for real latches. The targa top is incomplete, it dose not latch to the deck lid and it needs custom gaskets.

Passenger and driver doors: both fully operational. These stay up with little effort and lock automatically when closed. These unlock via a switch inside the car or out side the car.

The driver door can be opened from the outside with a with a remote clicker and the passenger door opens via a button in the cockpit so if your driving alone you don’t unlock both doors at the same time.

Deck lid: fully functional locks with the use of locking pins and key. Features replica handmade vent for extra cooling.

Potential buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect and test drive this vehicle in person. Serious buyers may schedule a date and time with me to inspect this vehicle. I prefer to complete transactions like this in person because there is a lot to go over.

I want buyers to understand not only how to use one of these cars but how to take care of them. Payment can be completed at a nearby bank. I have sold 2 of these now, this is my third and I’ve learned this is the best way to do it.

Shipping: Buyer is responsible for shipping. I suggest you get a quote before you decide to purchase so you can determine your overall price.
