Buick Rainier

The Buick Rainier was first introduced in 2003 as a replacement to the Oldsmobile Bravada. The Rainier is part of the brands in the entry-level luxury category; it is a midsized SUV that is manufactured by Buick General Motors also referred to as GM. The production of this vehicle did not last long and it ended in 2007.

During the production of the Buick Rainier between the years of 2003 to 2007 owners of this vehicle may have encountered a variety of different problems. One of the most common problems that were seen in this vehicle was with its electrical system. Some of the vehicles turn signals remained on and could not be turned off which meant that the flashers needed to be replaced. Another electrical problem that was seen in these Buick Rainiers was with the On Star system.

Problems arose in this system#8217;s communication, security, navigation aspects, and with the diagnostic services that were installed exclusively in the GM vehicles. Some of the reasons why the GPS systems lost their precision were due to the Buick Rainier having tinted windows or if objects were put in an area near to where the antenna was located. Other individuals experienced the system quitting prematurely or not turning on at all.

The 2004 Buick Rainier models had problems with their gas tank. Some of the vehicle owners found it difficult to fill up because the nozzle clicked off or the gas would spit out. When this occurred it meant that the Rainier#8217;s filler pipe needed to be changed out for a new one.

Other fuel system problems included trouble with the gas gauges. The problem with the gauge would either result in the engine stalling or failing to even start because it is out of gas even though the gauge says that there is fuel in the vehicle. Some of the vehicle owners would say that even after they filled the car up with gas the gauge would not show it.

Instead of automatically going to get the fuel sender replaced the vehicle owners would first see if using a fuel system cleaner would fix the problem.

Other problems that were seen in the Buick Rainer from 2003 to 2007 where within the lights, wipers, issues with water leaking, with the starter, and also problems with the vehicle#8217;s engine. The 2004 Rainiers saw problems with the tail and brake lights not working at all. The 2004 and 2005 Buick Rainiers had 4.2 liter 6-cylinder engines.

Some of the engines would begin to leak water right into the car#8217;s transmission which caused the owners to have to replace the dipstick tube. The ignition switches would fail in some of the 2006 Buick Rainiers which would cause the vehicle to not start.

Recently GM has provided consumers with the 2011 Buick Rainier . The standard features of this vehicle include a towing capacity that has six cylinders which allows it to tow items weighing 6,000 pounds or more and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Buyers of this vehicle are able to include a 4/10 axle with their vehicle which makes it easier for them to tow a trailer if they would like. The acceleration and power is extremely smooth due to the vehicle having a standard horsepower of 275 and an engine with six cylinders.
