There are crazy running amuck in Australia, no about it. Our first and only this supercharged ’99 Daewoo . It was built from the ground up the custom supercharger and interior) by our cohorts from Fast and Rotaries with the sole of giving it away.

First of why even try? And second of why even try? That never fly over here. No man, not in a long shot.

All work just to be thrown at lazy-… rat-faced bastard for nothing? Screw that.

tackle the first obstacle. a Daewoo. C’mon, I mean, the lowly Kia owners tease the guys at the lights.

And even if you wanted to own a Daewoo in the there’s the problem of actually a dealership, or at least one that’s in business. Are the cars really pathetic? Well at 105 hp, a 0–62 of 10.36 and a quarter of 17.71 at 79 mph numbers from the blokes at Fours), you be the judge (and you have to be a good ’un).

The all started in February of 1999. It was Project Howler for reasons rather not discuss at this Fast Fours toiled 8 months—from sketch to completion—to the beast.

The total retail of the buildup is $56,382 (Aussie), is equivalent to a little more five bucks (Hey, got that in my pocket! Oh, wait, no I Ever wonder where to off with a project car?

Here ya go. Fast Fours was enough to walk us through the process.

The first step was care of the wheels, tires, and Eighteens and 215/35s proved too big due to and space, so the mag went with MOMO Racers and 215/40R17 W-10s. K-Mac designed lowering springs just for the and Koni was called upon for its Sport adjustables.

Even at point, the Daewoo was starting to like a different car altogether. Not the Howler yet, but definitely its voice.

The interior was next. And Fast shot for the moon. The Recaro were restitched in red and black, and the bench was retrimmed in the same to match, then padded for

How can a cabin be without the proper tuning? We’re talking mate. And Fast Fours fooling around. The mag went to Sony for the company’s latest gear. There was room for a unit, so in went a Sony and tape player, complete DSP, EQ, and SA.

The whole stereo setup three long weeks to Custom door pods crafted for the 6-inch two-ways, and a floor was placed in the trunk for the changer and subwoofer box. Car and Image gets credit for the

But only call them if in Australia or don’t mind boatloads in freight.

Fast saved the toughest part for the engine. At first, the magazine to keep things simple—you intake, exhaust, a little porting, and some cammies. But the supercharger offer came and everything went out the window.

It took three more before the blower was fitted the engine. The main change was the air-intake box from the left of the engine to the right. The battery was and now that’s where the airbox and the water injection system is the airbox used to sit.

The works because the battery was out for an Odyssey, which is half the of a normal battery.

The chip was for more torque and a slightly rev range. After some nip and tuck with the engine (a header and exhaust), horsepower jumped all the way up to 177. Zero to 62 is now at seconds, max speed at 130 mph, and a of 15.29 at 91 mph (again, all test courtesy of the true believers at Fours).

With the important things out of the way, the magazine set its sights on Modeled after the Corolla Rally Championships car, GS Bodies created custom sideskirts and front and rear which are plays off the original molds. Graphics added the touch, and the car was all set for the giveaway.

We don’t who won yet, but we’re still Fast Fours decided to this one for itself.
