The Theta (G4KC) is a gasoline automobile engine family. The all-aluminum engine of Hyundai Company debuted in the fourth-generation Sonata sedan (codenamed which was unveiled in August [ citation needed ] in South Hyundai Motor Manufacturing (HMMA) is currently building a II engine shop on the grounds of Montgomery, Alabama automobile

The shop will build the Theta II engine for both the plant and the new Kia Plant in West GA. It was completed in August 2008.

Global Engine [ edit ]

The Global Engine was a joint venture between Mitsubishi Motors. and the Hyundai Company for developing a line of engines 4-cylinder engines. The design of the engine block and head was handled by Hyundai. each manufacturer configured variants of the initial design based on their needs.

In Chrysler bought out Mitsubishi and stake in the joint-venture, however company retained rights to the engines.

It features hollow stainless-steel with powder-metal cam lobes, combustion chambers and shimless tappets in the cylinder head.

BorgWarner Morse TEC supplies the timing system which the company’s proprietary silent chains. Continuously variable timing (CVVT) works on the side.

The MPI of the 2.0L Theta engine has a compression ratio, and it produces (122#160;kW; 165#160;PS) at 6,200 rpm and (198#160;N·m) of torque at 4,600 rpm and is in the Middle East .

The MPI version of the 2.4L Theta has a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and it 176#160;hp (131#160;kW; 178#160;PS) at rpm and 168#160;lb·ft (228#160;N·m) of torque at rpm and is available in the Middle East .
