Hyundai Getz

Zippy fuel-saver Getz popular

The Hyundai Getz has built up a solid following since its introduction in Australia in 2002. The successor to Hyundai#39;s top-selling Excel, the Getz marked a significant improvement in build quality which Hyundai has continued with the recent launch of the new Sonata.

There is a choice of engines, a 60-kilowatt 1.3 litre and 74-kilowatt 1.5 litre, and three or five doors. The NRMA rates the 1.3 litre XL Getz (three-door with a manual transmission) as having the lowest operating costs of any new car 36.69 cents per kilometre or $105.84 a week. The three-door manual 1.5 litre GL is ranked second at $111.39 a week.

The five-door and automatic variants aren#39;t far behind.

With a class-leading, five-year, 130,000-kilometre warranty and prices starting at $13,490, the Getz commands about 20 per cent of sales in its segment.
