Maybe consider swap for car, 1.4 litre or less.

This is Bridget. Fantastic little van which I have converted into day van / surf van / camper. Would also make good work van as it’s ply lined and bed/bench in removable. Has spare key.

Great runner, MOT’d till April or March (i’ll check) Very good low mileage for it’s age. Just put 6 months tax on for you on friday (30th). Havn’t had any problems with it, only selling as I need funds for my degree and will be gutted to see her go.

She can actually be quite nippy, especially once warm but you tend to stay in the low lane on motorways. I’d definitely recommend getting the 1.3 over the 1L from experience. And the diesels need a new headgasket every 25k so steer clear!

It’s astonishingly cheap to run, fill up on £18 of LPG and she’ll go on and on. Insurance is very very cheap even for young drivers. Can be insured under car insurance which tends to be cheaper, van insurance, or you could change classification to campervan and it would be very cheap.

Fantastic on small country lanes as it’s so thin unlike other vans.

In the back, there is a L shaped bench for seatting, the bench then folds out, with attachments for the legs to create a bed large enough for two. Soo much nicer than staying in a tent. It’s very warm at night because the van was insulated and then ply lined.

Drivers side sliding door is blocked off as the bench is on this side. If you wanted it as a work van you could just cut the ply like it is on the other side and both slide doors would work. We use a memory foam bed topper as the mattress but I cant include this sorry.

Unfortunately the petrol gauge doesn’t work, I’ve just been told its a bad earth but have never sorted it as I havnt found it a problem as for 90% of journeys I use LPG as it’s so much cheaper (70p / liter) and that has it’s own fuel gauge. I always start the van on petrol as you are meant to.

Inside is slightly tatty, but I’ll give it a good clean for I sell. Could do with new footwell mats (£12 off eBay)

There is an LCD screen build into the wall which is included, really nice to watch DVD’s in at night. (DVD player not included) I powered these from a leisure battery. I have a good quality leisure battery and 300w power inverter so you can power anything with a normal household plug! Included.

I have two or three workshop manual pdfs which were around £6 each I’ll put these onto a CD for you.

Has a sound system worth around £220 new, the headunit plays CD’s and has an AUX (Ipod) input. Has two Alpine 16cm co-axial speakers in the front, a 600w amplifier which powers the large speaker in the bench in the back. Sounds great for all kinds of music, don’t worry its not like a chav boy racer thing, it just sounds good!

The only negative really is the paintwork, which isn’t really a negative to me but I have to mention it. The van was previously black, it’s now a very nice blue colour. It was done using the ‘rustoleum roller technique’ which people use on their VW campers. The only problem is that if your 5m or closer you can see it’s not completely smooth

I wouldn’t let that put you off though it’s not bad and it’s a great colour. Also the side door handles are bust, however, I went to look at 4 other hijets before I bought her and they were broken on everyone it’s just a design fault. You can fit handles from a suzuki carry and they reportedly don’t break!

Needs wheel tracking on the front wheels, but you can have that done for £15-£25, pretty minor thing but I’m trying put everything down honestly.

She’s very reliable, has done the trip from Wales to Southampton twice, been Southampton to Cornwall, and another trip to Devon without skipping a beat.

Surfboards under 7ft can fit inside along the roof. Ran out of space to write anymore. Email me! Will meet at Aberystwyth train station if needed
