I did the code by turning the ignition on off on off then on and it said 1. 2. 5..5. whichis cause i didnt read codes in the book. someone it was my PCM. PowerContolModule. what do you could be.

Answer

Hi Audrey,

The 12 code that sometime in the past igniton off-on-off cycles the to the PCM was disconnected. If you haven’t disconnected the in that number of cycles that is a possibly relevant It might mean the battery are loose on the posts, or the posts are and need to be cleaned up, or there is a ground connection from the post of the battery (check all the that are associated with the clamp and make sure are all attached to shiney metal and clamped tightly, including the one to the near the battery tray and the one at the tower on the driver’s side, and the one to the cylinder head at the rear.

The 55 just means end of readout. I also suggest that the time this happens you be prepared to test whether you lost your spark or and weather you hear the fuel run for about 1 second when you turn the ignition switch to run for that sound so you know it sounds like when are o.k.).

To be ready for spark test:

the best thing to do is to have a spark plug with you and when the car dies to remove one of the spark plug connector located on the valve cover to the front of the car (there are 3); turn the boot 1/2 turn and pull back out of the cover, don’t on the wire however. Once the comes out insert the spare and hold the assembled plug and fitting by the rubber but positioned so the metal threads of the test plug are firmly in contact the engine head or similar surface of the engine block.

Then recruit a helper to use the key to crank the starter motor. You watch to see whether or not you are getting a jumping across the gap at the tip of the plug. You then know if the problem is due to the ignition system (no spark) or the system (spark present).

You try this self-diagnosis procedure at using an old spark plug is for the car engine (or buy a new one specifically for your car they are a bit expensive because are supposed to last for 100,000 mainly because the ones at the valve cover are a major to replace, unfortunately).

That way you can be sure that you are it correctly when the need When you remove the rubber use a tool to get around and under it than pulling on the rubber which would likely the wire’s connection to the rubber cap and contact.

The other thing to do is to test the engine controller for the appearance of new fault codes. Let me if anything other than a 55 is or shows up and we’ll take it there. A no start without a is one of the toughest problems to remediate.

You will want to do the test of the with the spark plug it won’t start because is very useful for diagnosing could be the problem at the time it is present.
