Review: 2012 Toyota Prius c | The Truth About Cars

Review: 2012 Toyota Prius c In the geek world we have #8220;Moore#8217;s law#8221; which states the number of transistors in ICs will double every two years. In the automotive world we have the bloat law. Every generation of a vehicle will get more powerful, heavier and physically larger than its predecessor, ultimately requiring the manufacturer to design an entirely new, smaller car to fill the void left by the original. Back in 2001, the original Prius cost $19,995, weighed 2,765lbs and delivered 52/45MPG. Three generations later it costs $24,000, tips the scales at 3,050lbs, yields 51/48MPG and is far more practical for a family of four. Listing for $1,000 less than the original Prius ...

Road test: Toyota Verso | AOL Cars UK

Road test: Toyota Verso Toyota UK AOL Cars gets behind the wheel of the new Toyota Verso for the first time on British roads. This is Toyota’s offering in the ultra-competitive C-segment MPV market. Think it looks slightly familiar? Well, that’s because it is. This Verso is a face-lifted version of the old model with a new more aggressive face and a better quality interior. What’s under the bonnet? Versos come with a choice of two petrols and a diesel. Heading up the petrol range is a 130bhp 1.6 and a 145bhp 1.8 while the only diesel is a reworked 2.0-litre giving 125bhp. Bearing in mind the type of life this kind of car has to live, it seems strange to us that there ...

Toyota Prius 2010 Review | Cars | CNET UK

Bad In this review The Toyota Prius is loved and loathed in equal measure. To some, it is a mere gimmick that does as much to harm the environment as it does to protect it. Others believe it represents the future of motoring, boldly forging a path that other cars simply aren’t equipped to follow. Whatever your opinion, it’s difficult to deny the Prius has always been a technological tour de force, but has the latest iteration evolved sufficiently to silence the brand’s critics? We think so. The good Toyota hasn’t been sitting on its laurels since the last Prius. Almost every major component inside the 2008, generation II Prius has been overhauled, rejigged or replaced, ...

2013 Toyota Auris C-segment hatchback unveiled!

2013 Toyota Auris C-segment hatchback unveiled! Toyota continues on its drive to update all its C-segment models and the latest to get a replacement is the Toyota Auris, a nameplate that made its debut just last generation. Before that Toyota called this car the Corolla Hatchback or the Corolla RunX. The Toyota Auris is the C-segment hatchback companion to the Toyota Corolla, and boy does it look sweet. The new Auris is much sharper looking than the model it replaces, and I do hope the next generation Corolla Altis has more in common with the Auris than the JDM Corolla Axio . There are some elements of the Toyota Prius on the front and sides of the car, and the rear takes on some Lexus-like ...

Project Crown: Inspirations Large & Small | Speedhunters

Project Crown: Inspirations Large #038; Small Next Chapter When I last left off with my ’69 Toyota Crown Wagon project, I had gotten the car titled, got it rolling, washed, and had begun to ready it for the next stages of the build. Today I’d like to share a couple more small updates on the project and also touch on some of the Crown-related inspiration (and souvenirs) I found during my recent time in Japan. Let’s begin by traveling back to January for the JCCA New Year Meeting. Among the large sea of amazing cars I saw that day was this Tokyo-based 50-series Crown Custom Wagon not unlike my own. Interestingly, I couldn’t recall ever seeing this particular car before – either ...

To find out more about each model, please click on the links above. Toyota Sparky The Islander range of Minivans is heavily based on the 1999 to 2006 model Suzuki Carry. This is a good thing. The Suzuki Carry is a brilliant little van and perfect for use in the Channel Islands. Over the past 11 years of trading the Suzuki Carry has been one of our biggest sellers. When we found out it was being discontinued we knew the Channel Islands needed something to replace it in the coming years. The Suzuki Carry was originally designed for use in Japanese cities and called the Suzuki Everylandy. The model soon found its way on to the UK market, but as a panel van only. Sales in the UK were #34;steady#34; ...

Toyota Wish review and specifications | Jan's Personal Blog

Toyota Wish review and specifications Toyota Wish is a multi-purpose urban sporty vehicle. Having owned it and driven it around, I would consider it very easy to drive. It is an MPV that handles more like a car than a bulky MPV. Due to the longer length, side parking may be problematic though the rear sensors helped with the parking. The width is much like a normal car width making it easy to negotiate through heavy traffic. The fuel tank capacity is 60 litres, quite big but for normal town driving, I get about 400+ kilometres out of it. For outstation trips, I get 20% improvement with about 500 kilometres of travelling distance. The air-conditioning caters mostly to the front passengers. ...
