The AutoIndustrie Blog: Proton Perdana replacement…NOT

Proton Perdana replacement. NOT Rumours of a new Perdana replacement have been making its round on many Malaysian forums after images of a Proton-badged mid-size sedan began to surface on the Internet. I wish to put a couple of things straight. Unless there was an abrupt turn between the middle and end of 2007 which I was not aware of, this project was a still-born and has since been shelved by Proton. If you ignore the badging, the car in question is actually an Australian built Mitsubishi 380, a mid-size sedan largely designed for the Australian and Middle-East market, one of the two largest markets outside the United States for medium sized sedan. However, the vehicle was launched at ...

REVIEW: 2011 Proton SAGA 1.3 FLX With CVT data-trigger=hover class=pop-blog-ads Used 2005 Proton GEN-2 -2 data-trigger=hover class=pop-blog-ads First off, in the looks department, there#8217;s practically nothing new about the FLX, except for the badge at the rear and a new colour tone #8211; Elegant Brown. The real differences is that its engine noise isn#8217;t as intrusive as before, the front end of the car feels a little more reactive and best of all, it should be less painful on your pockets. The CVT equipped Proton Saga 1.3 FLX features a button just below the gear knob labelled SAT (Stepped Automatic Transmission) The Proton Saga 1.3 FLX variant comes with a list of added features ...

Proton Waja : Wikis (The Full Wiki)

Contents History The Proton Waja is the first model designed in-house by Proton. The development of the Waja began at the end of the 1990s together with the Campro engine. however the development of the Campro engine was still in progress at the time of its launch and therefore Proton had to source the 4G18 engine for the Waja from Mitsubishi. [ citation needed ] before switching to Campro engines in 2006. It was launched in August 2000 together with the introduction of Proton’s new corporate logo. Early batches of the Waja had some serious quality problems due to some component vendors and suppliers skipping quality checks to rush for the huge early demand. [ citation needed ] However, ...

Proton GEN 2 Review

Proton GEN 2 Review

The Proton GEN 2 is nice little car which looks good (apart from the silly rear wing), drives well, is very well equipped, and is as cheap as chips. To stand any chance at all of sales, an anonymous brand like Proton must have a cast iron warranty, and the GEN 2 comes up with the goods. There’s a 3 year, 60,000 mile overall warranty, plus a 6 year, 100,000 mile guarantee for the engine and gearbox. The Proton GEN-2 GSX model that I drove has just about every extra you could hope for, including leather seats and a reasonably powerful 1.6 litre petrol engine, which retails at £10,595 (€14,800). That includes air conditioning, four electric windows, central locking, front ...

NEW Proton Satria Neo CPS ( 125HP )

NEW Proton Satria Neo CPS ( 125HP ) The Campro CPS engine is finally in the Proton Satria Neo, something that many have been eagerly waiting for. The CPS is essentially a Campro engine with a few updates and a variable valve lift system called CPS as well as a variable intake manifold. These additions help push up power to 125 PS at 6,500rpm and 150Nm of torque at 4,500rpm, figures which are up from the standard Campro’s 110hp and 148Nm. The car’s front and rear track has also been updated. While the Proton Satria Neo had a front and rear track of 1,470mm for both, the Satria Neo CPS H-Line has a narrower front track at 1,467mm and a wider rear track 1,483mm. We didn’t managed to get ...

Proton Satria GTi

Rubric: Proton | 10 Mar 2015 | Comments Off on Proton Satria GTi
Proton Satria GTi

Proton Satria GTi A couple of weeks ago I was in Penang, Malaysia. Originally, it does not worth mentioning seeing a Proton there, as 70% of the country#8217;s cars are Proton. However, the car I saw is a Proton Satria GTi, which is still a fresh and rare scene in Malaysia. If not a car lover, I might not pick the car out of all the similar Protons from the street. Saying it beautiful is obviously a lie, so is saying it ugly. As most people knows, the best selling Proton, no matter in Malaysia or in Europe (in which UK is the biggest market), is the Compact / Persona. That is based on the Mitsubishi Lancer / Colt / Mirage of the previous generation. The GTi, as its name says, is the ...
