A 26-year-old Braintree man faces charges after a crash that, according to police, sent a 10-wheeler truck dangerously close to Dunkin#8217; Donuts at 238 Grove St.

Police arrived Nov. 25 after callers reported a multiple car crash shortly after 12:30 p.m.

According to Police Chief Russell Jenkins, a portion of Grove Street was closed temporarily while officers investigated the crash and the three vehicles involved were towed away.

Based on their investigation, officers determined that the Braintree man was traveling south on Grove Street and crossed the center line into the path of the 10-wheeler that was traveling north and being operated by a 40-year-old Dorchester man, Jenkins stated.

The Braintree man, whose name was not released because he has not yet been charged, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier that crashed into the 10-wheeler head-on, forcing it into a 2006 Saab 97 operated by a 36-year-old Milton woman who was waiting to exit the parking lot onto Grove Street, Jenkins stated.

The 10-wheeler continued on, crashing through a fence and coming to rest against the overhead on the roofline of Dunkin#8217; Donuts.

There was minor structural damage to the building, but it remained intact, Jenkins stated.

No one inside was hurt, but all three drivers were taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Braintree man faces charges of operating to endanger, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
