Australian car now have what looks to be a good new seven-seat SUV option – the MU-X (pronounced “Mew-X”).

So what’s it like? it may look a bit like the rather Holden Colorado7 but from the I spent in it I must say I was impressed.

Something else that me was the ride.  The Isuzu product with a coil spring/five-link set-up that really deliver a nice mix of comfort, ability and handling.

There is a bit of body roll when in the corners and it does tend to dive a touch under braking, but overall it’s a good set-up.

One thing to note of if you are considering a MU-X is the base-model (LS-M) comes all-terrain tyres (i.e. more suited to off-road while the other two models and LS-T) are fitted with Terrain rated rubber.

The new Isuzu also didn’t that soft and spongy pedal feel that noticed on the Holden Colorado. I was pleased to observe that on surfaces there was not a rattle or from any part of the interior.

of the cabin there are plenty of storage areas, though the two boxes are a touch on the small legroom front and back is without being great and the of seats can quite easily two adults.

Comfort levels are in the mid and top spec models with the of rear roof-mounted air-conditioning the base model obviously out. A 10” roof-mounted DVD screen is standard on the flagship model.

The gauges are clear and easy to and the driver display screen is quite functional, albeit the is a touch dated.

Like the the third-row of seats doesn’t into the floor but Isuzu has a better job of hiding this the inclusion of a storage area the seats and this certainly complete the cargo area.

As yet isn’t an ANCAP rating for the new but Isuzu bosses were their new offering would a five-star grading.

Overall I have to say I was really impressed. The build-quality looks the design is really nice, it has an engine, gearbox and suspension

With sharp pricing and continued efforts to provide after-sales service I can’t but think it’s going to plenty of happy Australian

The MU-X cabin has a much feel than its Holden cousin.
