Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. Toyota strives to build vehicles to match customer interest and thus they typically are built with popular options and option packages.

Not all options/packages are available separately and some may not be available in all regions. In certain areas, 4-cylinder automatic models are equipped as Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV). For Corolla 4-cylinder models certified as Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV), all emissions components are covered for 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, for performance or defect.

The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or bring a Smart Key fob into the vehicle, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key or Smart Key fob matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer.

Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key or Smart Key fob, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key or Smart Key fob, your Toyota dealer can help.

BMX Star Drew Bezanzon#8217;s Crusher Corolla Headed to SEMA

Published: October 28, 2013

The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show is next week and Toyota is bringing six vehicles. Car makers around the world join their design teams with different aftermarket companies to build the most awesome cars on the planet.

Toyota is teaming up with BMX rider Drew Bezanzon to build what is going to know as the Corolla Crusher.

This is a car designed for the cyclist in mind with a bike rack already installed complete with two bicycles.  In the BMX styling of the car Bezanzon added grind rails on both the front and rear of the car.  The paint job also reflects the BMX attitude and life style with deep violet colors and crazy graphics including a headphone wearing skull, a nod to Skullcandy.

This isn’t your sweet little Corolla, this is one bad beast.

The exterior also includes spot lights and speakers.  Just roll this Toyota Corolla up and you are now the life blood of the street party. The interior is just as colorful with white trim and red leather seats.  An iPad in the center console completes the look. The iPad has custom controls integrated into the interior.

The front seat headrests also have Skullcandy’s newest Crusher headphones (hence the Crusher name).  Skullcandy upgraded speakers in the trunk add to the punk atmosphere next to the cargo locations for bike tools.

While this Toyota Corolla is not available with all of these options yet, you can still buy a Toyota Corolla near Kirkwood today.  What is great about SEMA, it gives us a look at what you can do with the “boring” cars we are so used to seeing. Obviously this is not a Corolla that most of us would even consider owning, but it is nice to see designers thinking outside the comfort box.

Toyota Corolla Nominated for Green Car of the Year

Published: October 18, 2013

The new 2014 Toyota Corolla has been nominated as a finalist for Green Car of the Year for 2014.  What is amazing about this nomination is that this is not an electric car, but is still considered green enough for the nomination.  This is the first year that electric and hybrid cars have not dominated the nominations.

The winners will be announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

So what makes this Corolla so green? The model nominated is the Toyota Corolla LE Eco Trim. What is awesome about this car is the fuel economy with 40 plus hwy mpg and 30 city mpg.

It is equal to and even better than many hybrid and diesel models with a 1.8 liter and 4 cylinder 140 hp engine. This Corolla is already meeting future government fuel economy guide lines.

The exterior comes standard with 15 inch steel wheels with 16 inch available. Underbody aero panels help with this Corolla’s aero dynamics helping add to the fuel economy. Innovative low rolling resistance tires also help with this.

This car makes trip travel fabulous with easily allowing over 500 miles between fill ups.

The interior is great with Corolla’s spacious leg and head room leading the pack for a compact. Technology also plays a part with the Bluetooth hands free system and 7 inch touch screen. Also available is a rear camera.  This is an awesome feature that many people don’t really think they need until they have one.  Then you can no longer reverse without it.

Steering wheel controls are also another great feature that most people don’t need until they have one.

The Toyota Corolla LE Eco is leading the pack in green cars and clearly stands a high chance of being named Green Car of the Year.  The LE Eco can be checked out in Saint Louis at Toyota Corolla dealer .

TheToyota Corolla vs The Ford Focus

Published: October 8, 2013

The Toyota Corolla and the Ford Focus are two very similar cars by two of the largest car makers on the planet. But even though they are in the same class, they are two very different cars.  Let’s see what makes them a like and what makes them dissimilar.

Both cars are considered small compacts.  The Toyota Corolla has been the best- selling compact for more than 40 years.  The Corolla has a proven track record.  Ford introduced the Focus to the United State in 1999. In a way it replaced the Ford Escort and was Ford’s hope to overtake the Corolla.

So far the Corolla is still topping sales in both the new and used car markets.

One of the reasons both cars are popular is the great fuel economy.  The new 2014 Corolla has a fuel economy of 28 City / 37 Hwy.  While the new 2014 Focus has 26 City / 36 Hwy.

The Corolla has a base engine of 132 hp 1.8 L I-4 DOHC, and the Focus has a base engine of 160 hp 2.0 L I-4 DOHC.

The Toyota Corolla has always been known for its safety innovations.  LED headlights and eight air bags come standard. Driver and passenger also have whiplash lessoning seats and front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones with side-impact door beams.

Focus has similar safety features but it many do not come standard but are available as add on options.

Overall both cars are great compact car options.  The Toyota Corolla cannot beat the Ford Focus in horsepower, but the Corolla is the beats the Focus with its gold standard.  It is a safe reliable sharp looking compact car with great resale value and fuel economy. Test drive a Toyota Corolla in St.

Louis today. The future will only get better as these great car makers continue to grace us with their innovations for the compact car.
