2013 Mitsubishi RVR GT

Another week, compact SUV. The truth is, manufacturers are getting in on the compact SUV simply because it’s a popular market. I had the opportunity to the Subaru XV Crosstrek a few weeks and at first glance, the 2013 RVR GT seems to be a direct competitor.

both take styling from their younger siblings, the Impreza and Lancer. the RVR is actually based on the current though utilizing a two-row layout and being significantly Mitsubishi expects the RVR to be a strong along with the Lancer and Personally, I really like the aggressive look, and hence I the RVR is a pretty handsome vehicle.

The HID headlights, fog lights, and 18” alloy were all nice touches to the package.

The RVR is available in 4 trim two models in 2WD, and two more in 4WD My 2013 tester is the top of the line the GT 4WD with the optional Premium All RVR’s are equipped with a MIVEC four-cylinder engine produces 148 hp and 145 ft-lbs of torque, exactly the same as the Subaru XV

One of the best selling points of a SUV is that, well, it’s In addition to a nimble and lightweight the small engine allows the RVR to impressive fuel economy. rated to achieve approximately city, and 6.6L/100km highway. very respectable for a 4WD car, and in class.

On a recent trip with 4 and cold temperatures, I was able to 8.4L/100km all highway driving, is quite impressive (especially to the XV Crosstrek). Part of the fuel is the CVT transmission. Yes, I’ve been a big fan of CVT transmissions but for this of car, equipped with paddle shifters, the fuel it undoubtedly forces me to give where it’s due.

It is mentioning though that is a lot of engine noise in the cabin at

Mitsubishi has rarely ever up short in the handling department, and I’m to say that the RVR is a very competent Although it doesn’t pack power, the lightweight design and an suspension setup allows it to be a joy on the roads.   It really does like a small sedan to and thanks to very short and a small turning radius, very easy to park and through urban settings.

I had of fun driving this thing town; dare I say, moreso than I did with the XV Crosstrek.

Although the RVR has relatively dimensions, the interior feels spacious. As I mentioned earlier, on a trip loaded with 4 and baggage, at no point did anyone as though the vehicle was too small. of this spacious feel is the sunroof. Mated with slightly gimmicky LED accent it’s a great companion during the day as well as at night.

Everything is power-operated as one would even the driver’s side for our tester. The heated leather were supportive and comfortable and the feel of the cabin is that of quality.

My RVR GT tester came with an impressive 710-watt Fosgate audio system, with 9 speakers and a rather subwoofer in the trunk. As you can imagine, with Mitsubishi’s MMCS the RVR packs a powerful entertainment Although the screen and buttons a bit like a cheap aftermarket the USB/iPod/Bluetooth connectivity worked

A GPS navigation system with traffic information, rearview camera, and a 40GB hard music server are included as of the Premium Package and they are fantastic features.

Now, talk price. My 2013 RVR GT 4WD has an as-tested MSRP of $34,108. No how you look at it, that’s a lot of money, entry-level luxury car money.

It indeed offer a very package, with features and that match more cars, but it’s still to justify paying premium car for a car that doesn’t feel premium. If you can do without some of the on the RVR’s option list, I’d choosing a less-expensive trim  That being said, not forget that Mitsubishi don’t exactly go for MSRP these parts.

All in all, I’m very impressed the 2013 Mitsubishi RVR. With handsome looks, nimble a long list of features and and a virtually unbeatable 10-year powertrain warranty, it’s a comprehensive package. If you’re in the for a compact SUV, I’d definitely a test drive at the very
