There may be that cost more, or faster, or last longer. But still symbolizes the finest in luxury vehicles. And the 2013 SRX is a example of why we all love those

I was quite delighted to learn a new SRX AWD Premium Collection edition be my test car for the week. With a price of $50,730, this top of the model competes with brand-name luxury cars as the Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK Class.

My SRX was equipped with all-wheel (although it’s also in front wheel drive) 308-HP 3.6-liter V-6 and 6-speed transmission. Better gas mileage is through Eco mode, and since the SRX on regular gasoline instead of that adds up to welcome at the pump.

The Cadillac SRX received design improvements for 2013, bolder outside styling included LED light pipes; wheels (but the Premium came with 20-inch in chrome and polished aluminum); new colors (mine had a Platinum Ice and upgraded interior materials.

The SRX has three new colors for 2013 Green Metallic, Glacier Metallic, and Silver Coast all with light Titanium color combination and Raven wood accent. However, I the Platinum Ice on the test model was beautiful even if it was so last

The SRX has top of the line technology with the User Interface (CUE). The black central control with touch-sensitive buttons instant confirmation that you activated the right function. The wheel and instrument panel its bright gauges all help the perform at top capacity.

CUE can provide radio streams Internet radio, HD radio, or other digital ports an illuminated USB port accessible the dashboard. A backseat entertainment also has the capability of playing music, or DVDs.

Standard safety features on the Collection model include a few were optional or unavailable on SRX: Safety Alert Lane Departure Warning, and Collision Alert. My test also included the optional Assist Package, which Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Preparation, and Front and Automatic Braking.

Plus a General Motors feature I dearly love, since it has me safely and efficiently through a road trip adventure. One of days I will write an column on how OnStar came to my

The test model had an MSRP of but options such as the rear entertainment system (which be priceless with kids on a trip) added $1,595 and the Assist Package added an $2,395. Add in the $995 for the Platinum Ice (which is really beautiful) and for the 20-inch chrome wheels for options of $5,880, plus charges of $895, and you arrive at the price for the test model:

Gas mileage is estimated at 18 mpg (16 in town and 23 on the or 5.4 gallons per 100 miles. Luckily, not premium but regular gas that you are for this Premium edition
