2012 Mercedes-Benz Viano Pearl Limited Edition Bows at Geneva

Meet the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Viano Pearl Limited Edition van, the quintessential people-hauler for the one percent. Mercedes-Benz is showing off the luxurious van at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show for the next two weeks as it preps for its launch later this year.

The top-of-the-line Viano comes stock with opulent features like real wood, nappa leather, and trim pieces consisting of brushed aluminum. Even the 19-inch light alloy wheels are coated in a two-tone paint with 245/45R-19 tires encasing them. The front-end receives a few tweaks for the 2012 model year with a revised radiator grille and a bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights.

A new #8220;magno allanite grey#8221; paintjob also makes its debut on the 2012 Viano Limited Edition van, but if that color doesn#8217;t tickle your fancy a new metallic paint finish is also available.

Every surface you touch in the Viano is made of a premium material from the entrance steps to the interior floor itself. The entrance steps have been crafted with real walnut wood strips which illuminates the brand#8217;s lettering in the dark. The floor in the rear of the van is also lined with a real walnut floor that#8217;s finished with a walnut stain.

If that#8217;s not enough walnut for you Mercedes went ahead and added a little more to the trim panels in the rear and up front as well.

As for seating in the Viano, the front two seats and four rear seats are covered in nappa leather. Contrasting stitching was added to bolster the seat#8217;s appearance, and trim steps forged from brushed aluminum complete the Viano#8217;s seats. An 18-speaker audio system lines the interior of the Viano and is responsible for a total output of 1320 watts.

Perhaps the most intriguing feature on the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Viano Pearl Limited Edition van is the electrochromatic glass.

Passengers are able to control their privacy by the simple touch of a button. There are 10 different settings to either darken the windows or make them transparent again. The tint can go from light to dark in a touch of a button too.

This is made possible by liquid crystals that are in the double glazing of the glass which darken or lighten up depending on the amount of voltage running through it.

Under the hood a V-6 diesel engine rated at 224 horsepower or a gasoline-fueled 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated at 258 horsepower; both are linked to an automatic transmission. The new flagship for the Mercedes-Benz Viano lineup comes with an eye-popping price tag of $130,381 and is expected to be ready to order this spring. The first Viano Pearl Limited Edition vans are expected to begin making deliveries later this summer.

If you want yours though, you#8217;d better be ready to travel: This ultra-luxe van is for Europe only.
