2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Overview

With distinguished styling, world-class reputation, and luxury, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class blends power and refinement at an entry-level price.

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available in three trim levels, each coming in Luxury and Sport versions, and with all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive configurations. The C300 boasts a 228-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6, which is also offered in an ethanol-capable version. The C350 comes equipped with a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6, while the high-performance C63 AMG is powered by a 451-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8.

Two transmission choices are also available: a six-speed manual with overdrive and a seven-speed automatic with overdrive. The C-Class receives an EPA-estimated 12-18 mpg in the city and 19-26 mpg on the highway and competes against the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Infiniti G37.

For those looking for an enhanced driving experience, the optional Dynamic Handling Package includes an active dampening suspension and speed-sensitive steering. Sitting on standard 17-inch five-spoke wheels, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class provides seating for up to five passengers and 12.4 cubic feet of trunk space. This luxury ride includes standard interior features such as eight-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a moonroof and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Optional equipment offered in the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class includes a fully retractable panorama sunroof that tilts or slides open, iPod integration kit with steering wheel controls, navigation system, and Universal Media Interface with USB connectivity.

A rear-view camera, which via the LCD display helps you see behind you when backing up or parallel parking, is also optional. Choose from an assortment of option packages including: Premium, Multimedia, COMAND, and the aforementioned Dynamic Handling.

Another impressive available option is Mercedes’ latest “mbrace” telematics system, which connects your vehicle to your iPhone or Blackberry. Features include stolen-vehicle tracking, crash notification, voice-guided navigation, a Mercedes Concierge who will make restaurant reservations, and other useful applications.

Safety features abound on the 2011 C-Class and include standard side-impact airbags in the front, side curtain airbags, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability program (ESP). Working in conjunction with ESP, 4Matic all-wheel-drive maximizes traction on sharp corners and slippery surfaces by applying additional torque to each wheel.

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has everything from four powerful drivetrains, impressive fuel economy, and a host of premium amenities and safety features.
