Today, on our 2011 Kia Soul, we will be test fitting part number TH917XTR. This is the Thule T2 platform style 2 bike carrier for 1-1/4 inch hitches. Now to begin our test fit, we will simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up our hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt.

With that, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now, we will go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 8 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 3/4 inch.

Today, on our 2011 Kia Soul, we will test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part number TH934XTR. Now, to begin our test fit, we have already moved the included adapter so we will go ahead and slip our bike rack shank into the hitch. We will line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We can now give you a few measurements.

Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 7-3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 9 inches.

Today on this 2011 Kia Soul we are going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack, using the 53 AeroBlade Load Bars as well as the Rapid Traverse Foot Pack. We already have our load bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them up on the vehicle. First thing we need to do is open both of the front doors. We will place the front load bar assembly up on top of the roof.

To place it in its proper position we need to measure 10-1/2 back from the edge of the windshield seal to the leading edge of the foot pack. Once we have our front load bar assembly positioned properly we will take the included Acu Tight wrenches and tighten them down.

Today on this 2011 Kia Soul, were going to be test fitting a Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack. We already have the crossbar assemblies put together, and now were ready to mount them up on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open both the front doors. To position our front bar we need to measure 310 mm or 12-7/32 from the center of the door gap between the front and rear door, and the center of the front bar.

Once we have our position set we can go ahead and tighten down the front crossbar assembly. We will move back and forth from drivers side to passengers side to tighten down the system evenly, and make sure that we dont lose our position.

2011 Kia Soul Questions and Answers

The Fit Dial setting of the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack, # TH911XT, that you will want to use for your 2011 Kia Soul is 11.

The lower arm of the carrier should be placed on the upper tier of the rear bumper and the straps should be placed at the top, side and bottom edges of the rear hatch. If you plan on carrying any womens, childrens or alternative style bike frames, I recommend looking at a bike adapter bar like part # TH982XT. Bikes with small or angled frames can be difficult to load on a

We offer both weather-resistant and weather-proof rooftop cargo bags. The weather-proof type offers superior protection for your enclosed cargo. Since the difference in cost is small, I do recommend the weather-proof variety as it will help protect your property from water damage but also from road dust and dirt.

If you do not consider that you need this protection the Rightline # RL100A20 is an excellent cost-effective choice. If you prefer a weather-proof bag consider the Rightline Edge, p

As long as you have side rails, cross bars or a cargo basket and your roof can accommodate the bag dimensions of 39 inches by 32 inches then the Highland KarPak Rooftop Cargo Carrier # 1039800 should work well for you. Check out the review video I attached for this product also. If you have a naked roof without any rails or cross bars you could get a Yakima FarOut Pro Cargo Bag # Y07173, this cargo bag can be attached to any roof style, even naked roofs.

The Highland KarPak Weather-Resistant Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag, part # 1039800, is compatible with vehicles that have either a roof rack system or factory side rails. It will work just fine on your Soul. It is a good idea, before placing anything heavy on your vehicle roof, to check your owners manual for any weight restrictions or other guidance about transporting cargo, just to make sure you do not exceed the vehicle limits. A great feature of this type of carrier is that unlike roof b

I have a solution for you, but the Thule Caravan Roof Top Cargo Bag # TH857 is designed to be attached to cross bars and would not work well, if at all, just attached to the side rails of your 2011 Kia Soul. I would recommend you get a Yakima GetOut Rooftop Cargo Bag # Y07187. This bag can be attached to raised side rails, crossbars or cargo baskets, or roofs without racks. Both of these bags are considered to be weather resistant, which means that they will keep things dry as long the bag

According to my Swagman rep, their # S64720 will work great with a BMX bike with tires up to 3 inches wide. The U-bolts used by the Swagman Rooftop Bike Carrier are a bit more than 3-1/8 inches wide, and the Rola Crossbars used on the # 59842 are exactly 3-1/8 inches wide. The rack should work just fine with the Rola Cross bars.

The roof rack that will allow you to use the Yakima Kayak Stacker, # Y04036, without the addition of an adapter is the Thule Traverse Roof Rack. This roof rack consists of square load bars, # THLB50, the Traverse Foot Pack, # TH480, and the Fit Kit, # THKIT1524. We have had a chance to install this roof rack on a 2011 Kia Soul so I attached a link to the installation video for you to check out.

Keep in mind that this roof rack has a weight capacity of 100 lbs.

The vehicle anchor straps can be mounted using some existing locations under the hood of your 2011 Kia Soul or you could use your own hardware. They used an existing bolt to secure one end of the strap for # TH529. For the back or another option for the front take a look at # TH530. This design has a large tube that cannot be pulled out once the hood or hatch is closed. You can then use a tie down kit like # TH855XT.

I have included a link to a video of # TH530 for you to view. For a carr

We do have a solution for you to carry your kayaks on your 2011 Kia Soul with the Rhino-Rack roof rack, however, I spoke with my contact at Yakima and the Kayak Stacker, # Y04036, will not fit on any of our Rhino Rack roof racks. The Kayak Stacker will only fit round or square crossbars and requires mighty mounts to fit elliptical crossbars. At this time this carrier is not compatible with the universal mighty mounts required for the Rhino Rack roof rack. Instead, I would recommend the Y

It looks like on your 2011 Kia Soul, you will have to place the Curt Support Strap, # 18050, in the gap between the body of the vehicle and the top of the rear hatch. You may have to open the rear hatch to get the hook in place and then close the door. If your 2011 Kia Soul has any type of spoiler at the top of the rear hatch, then you will want to attach the hook to the bottom edge of your rear hatch because spoilers are not designed to support any weight. The strap will wrap around the

The Classic Accessories Deluxe PolyPro III Heavy-Duty Pop-Up Camper Cover, # CA80039, is our best selling popup/folding camper cover. As long as your camper is configured similar to one of the pictured in the drawing I provided, see link, and the body of the camper is between 10 and 12 feet long, the cover will fit. If there are roof mounted accessories on the camper the cover will fit, the sides will not go down as far though. The durability of the cover will have a lot to do with the situat

Even if you added the Yakima Replacement Spine Assembly, # Y80126, to your Yakima HoldUp bike rack, # Y02433, you will not be able to use it with a Kia Soul. The reason is because the 2011 Kia Soul can only be equipped with a Class I trailer hitch and the HoldUp for 1-1/4 inch hitches will only fit a Class II trailer hitch. What you will need for the Soul is a different platform bike rack.

The most popular option is the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670. This bike rack holds the bikes at the wheels and

I went in the warehouse and measured the U-bolt from Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Crossbar Fit Kit. part # RUBK-MF. The width from center to center of the U-bolt is 2-5/8 inches. The height of the U-bolt is 3-5/32 inches. The amount of thread on each bolt is 2-3/32 inches.

The U-bolt diameter is 6 mm or 15/64 inch. I am including a picture of the U-bolt with the dimensions listed.

I do have a hitch available that will fit your 2012 Kia Soul. The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24839, has been confirmed to fit the 2012 Kia Soul. If you will be doing light towing, you may be interested in the following items: Wiring, part # 119176KIT Ball Mount, part # 3593 1-7/8 Hitch Ball, part # 19256 If you will be using the hitch for hitch accessories, like bike racks, you will be limited to those that are compatible with Class I hitches. You will want to make sure no

Yes, this Thule Raceway 3 Bike Carrier # TH9002 is confirmed fit for your 2011 Kia Soul. The top portion of the bike rack will rest on the back glass of your vehicle, but it will not damage the glass of your rear windshield. Most of the pressure from the rack will be on the lower arms of the rack due to gravity.

We have never had any issues with the back glass being damaged on a trunk mounted bike rack, and the # TH9002 is no exception to that. I attached installation instructions and a re

A concern you will have when going with a roof rack system is the roof load carrying capacity of your 2011 Kia Soul and the weight limit of the roof rack. You will want to make sure not to exceed the load limit of your roof or roof rack. The roof rack, plus the weight of the boat and any other cargo will be considered weight on your roof.

The roof load carrying capacity of your Kia Soul can be found in the vehicle owners manual. The problem you will run into is the capacity of the roof rack.

Our installers use the tools you see because we have them available. But you can install the hitch with hand tools and a car jack at home. You will need the following tools: Torque wrench 17mm Socket and ratchet wrench Phillips head screw driver If you do not have any or some of these tools, some automotive shops will lend tools.

I have included a link to the installation instructions for the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch, # 60256, for you. If you are planning on doing some towing, th

Since your 2011 Kia Soul has a naked roof with no side rails or crossbars, you will need the type of roof rack that has towers that clamp to the roof. I have included a link to the available options for you to view. The Rola Roof Rack, # 59818, will not work because it is designed to be mounted to existing side rails that run front to back on the vehicle roof. I recommend a standard Thule system.

You will need 3 parts. Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack, # TH480 Thule Roof-Rack Fit Ki

The Thule Raceway 2 Bike Trunk Mounted Bike Rack, part # TH9001 will fit your 2011 Kia Soul. It can carry 2 bikes and has a weight capacity of 70 lbs. This bike rack is easy to install and is one of our best sellers.

I am including a link to a product page of the Thule trunk bike racks that will fit your Kia Soul. I would also recommend the Yakima QuickBack 2 Bike Rack, part # Y02621. This is a trunk mounted 2 bike rack that has a weight capacity of 60 lbs. It is also one of the easiest to i

Our contacts at Curt Manufacturing have confirmed that the Curt Class 1 receiver, part # 11110 is a fit for all models of the 2011 KIA Soul. We have not yet had the opportunity to complete an installation on a 2011 model. If you are planning on using your receiver to tow a small trailer, you will need the wiring harness, part # 118431 and either a 2 inch ball, part # A-82 or a 1-7/8 inch ball, part # A-80. If you are using a bike rack or other non-trailer load, be aware that Curt requires

The Class I receiver has a limited tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Tongue weight is the maximum amount of weight that can be safely suspended from the receiver without causing damage. Due to these limits, the bike rack you specified can be used, but ONLY two bikes may be carried on it.

The hitch itself weighs around 20 lbs, which should not cause any issues. I spoke with one of my contacts at Yakima, the manufacturers of Rhode Gear bike racks, and was told that the Yakima HitchSki has
