2011 Hyundai Veracruz Overview

With seating for seven and a plethora of standard featuresall for an affordable price, the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz crossover deserves your attention.

Hyundai has been revamping their entire lineup, inside and out, and is looking to target the offerings of the more expensive luxury manufacturers. That holds true with the 2011 Veracruz and its 260-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6, which delivers 15-16 mpg around town and 23 mpg on the highway. Power is delivered to two or (as an option) four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual shift control.

The Veracruz offers more power and better fuel economy than the Honda Pilot, and is just a tick behind the Toyota Highlander. Although the Veracruz doesn’t stack up completely with luxury crossovers like the Lexus RX 350, it still offers incredible value and premium amenities at a lower sticker.

If you need passenger and cargo space, the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz delivers with room for seven in three rows of seating and 87 cubic feet of cargo space. A simple lever on the second row of seats helps the middle row slide forward for easy third-row access. The Veracruz starts with the base model GLS, which now offers a power driver’s seat, roof rack, leather wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, backup warning system, and temperature controlled storage all as standard features.

There are two trims available: GLS and Limited. Air conditioning and a 172-watt stereo with CD player also come standard in the GLS, while an upgraded 605-watt Infinity® Logic 7® stereo and LG® navigation system are optional. Four layers of carpet padding keep cabin quiet, while an electronically controlled engine mount minimizes engine noise.

The Limited model adds leather skinned seats, power front passenger seat with heat, power sunroof, dual zone climate control, and a power tailgate; a DVD entertainment system is also available.

Four-wheel antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and a brake assist feature ensure you get the most out of the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz’s brakes and help to avoid accidents. Active front head restraints, front, front-side, and three-row head airbags minimize injury during collisions.

With ample power, copious amounts of standard features, a luxurious cabin, and seating for seven at a great price, the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is as accommodating as it gets.
