2011 Chrysler Pacifica

2011 Chrysler Pacifica is among the new breed of crossover 4-dr wagons that aim to blend traits of cars, SUVs, and minivans. From behind the driver#39;s seat, in a 2011 Chrysler Pacifica you#39;d think you were in a luxury sport sedan. They#39;ve even included the obligatory dash-mounted analog clock.

The IP flows into a console that carries back between the second row seats. Interior material quality is good. Designers opted for a sports car brushed metal look instead of luxury wood trim.

The high belt-line creates a sense of security and the front and second rows of plush luxury seating offer up a comfortable ride.

The second row folds and tumbles forward to allow for access to the third row that#39;s designed to seat adults, but when I squeezed my five-foot eleven-inch frame back there, my head bumped up against the headliner.

2011 Chrysler Pacifica handles like a big sedan with precise steering and almost no body roll. 2011 Chrysler Pacifica shares it#39;s 215 hp 3.5L V-6 with the 300M, but this 4,675-pound #39;segment buster#39; could use a little more help under the hood. With three adults on board, it was huffing and puffing up some of the steeper inclines.

Once the car was up to speed on the freeway, it proved a formidable cruiser. Pacifica is taller than a car but lower than most SUVs. It also has an exceptionally wide body and is nearly as long as Chrysler#39;s Town Country minivan.

The sole power train is a 250-hp 3.5-liter V6 and 4-speed automatic transmission with manual shift gate.

Chrysler Pacifica

Chrysler says that 2011 Chrysler Pacifica is indefinable, in a segment all its own. Pacifica is perfect for the family of four who has graduated out of their minivan and needs something geared more towards grownup kids. To that end, it offers three rows of seats for 6-passenger capacity, a suspension designed to provide car like road manners, and available all-wheel drive.

The 2011 2011 Chrysler Pacifica offers front-wheel drive with optional traction control, or all-wheel drive without low-range gearing. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch wheels, and a load-leveling rear suspension are standard. Seating consists of buckets in the 1st and 2nd rows and a 3rd-row split bench. The 2nd and 3rd rows fold but don#39;t remove. A driver knee airbag is standard.

Head-protecting curtain side airbags that cover all three rows, power-adjustable pedals, and a tire-pressure monitor are standard on AWD models, optional on front-drive models. Side airbags and antiskid system are not offered. Options include leather upholstery, heated 1st- and 2nd-row seats, sunroof, power lift gate, navigation and DVD entertainment systems, and satellite radio.
