2010 Volkswagen Eos Overview

When you want a stylish and powerful drop-top that lets you and three friends tan in your crop-tops, it’s time to meet the 2010 Volkswagen Eos.

Smooth power is provided by a 200-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that presses you gently back in your seat when you dig into the throttle. Power is spun through a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and on to the front wheels. Fuel economy ratings are impressive, reaching 21-22 mpg in the city and 29-31 mpg on the highway.

Power is lower than the BMW 128 and on par with the Lexus IS 250C, while fuel economy is significantly higher.

The pièce de résistance of the 2010 Volkswagen Eos is its multifunctional top. The hardtop gives you the quiet, safety and warmth of a full-time coupe, and incorporates a sunroof for an intermediate open-air experience. When you want to throw coupe-riding to the wind, push the button to retract the hardtop in just 25 seconds, and get a delightfully breezy convertible ride. Nobody else offers all three experiences in the same car.

To further distinguish itself in the marketplace, the Eos offers an optional Trunk Lid Assistance feature that uses bumper-mounted sensors to detect obstacles that could damage the roof while lowered.

The interior design combines beautiful materials and excellent craftsmanship. Chrome trim surrounds the air vents, and available wood or brushed-aluminum trim make this interior look expensive. Both Komfort and Lux models come with great features like heated front seats, climate control and an available navigation system.

The Lux impresses with Vienna leather seats, leather door trim and an optional ten-speaker, 600-watt Dynaudio stereo.

A long list of safety features from antilock brakes to the Electronic Stabilization Program keep the 2010 Volkswagen Eos stable and out of harm’s way. Side mirrors feature turn signals and brake lights to inform other motorists of your intent to slow or change lanes, thus reducing the risk of accident. Available adaptive front headlights pivot to shine light into corners for enhanced visibility.

Six airbags and excellent structural engineering help the 2010 Volkswagen Eos achieve the Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Multi-configuration coupe/convertible driving, turbocharged power and great materials are enough to turn heads away from the competition and toward the 2010 Volkswagen Eos.
