2010 Jaguar XK Overview

For sweet luxury and exhilarating V-8 performance, seek the 2010 Jaguar XK.

Under that sexy Jaguar hood lies a 385-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. For the more risqué, the XKR comes strapped with a 510-horsepower, 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. The 2010 Jaguar XK lineup delivers 15-16 mpg city and 22-24 mpg highway fuel economy ratings.

This is more power and better fuel economy than its competitors, the BMW 650 and Mercedes-Benz SL550.

Jaguar’s rear-wheel drive coupe and convertible ride on nineteen-inch aluminum alloy wheels and feature all-aluminum body and chassis construction. The chassis is of the monocoque type, featuring elements bonded and riveted rather than welded.

The result is a very strong structure that is much lighter than a comparable steel chassis. Lighter means faster, more nimble and more fuel efficient.

Inside, the interior is draped with sensuous leather that sports twin contrast stitching. The supportive seats are also leather-wrapped, as well as heated, and the headliner is suede. Dual-zone automatic climate control keeps the sporting cabin at the optimal temperature, and a premium audio system creates a supreme aural experience. A six-CD changer and satellite radio provide the media, while Bluetooth compatibility keeps you in touch with a wide range of mobile devices.

Jaguar’s touch-screen navigation system relieves the stress of trying to find your way, so you can focus on enjoying the pleasurable ride and exquisite craftsmanship of this vehicle.

To customize your driving experience, the XK is equipped with JaguarDrive Selector and JaguarDrive Control, which soften or sharpen powertrain responsiveness to satisfy comfort-seeking or spirited drivers. And for balanced suspension feel, Jaguar Adaptive Dynamics reads road conditions in conjunction with driver inputs, and adjusts the suspension damping rate accordingly.

LED brake lights are visually appealing but also attention-grabbing, which can help prevent rear-end collisions. Adaptive front headlights pivot to shine the light in the direction you are maneuvering the XK, and four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist and an electronic stability system help keep this jungle cat’s paws planted.

For further accident prevention, adaptive cruise control uses radar sensors to monitor traffic ahead and aid the driver in maintaining a safe following distance. The advanced aluminum structure and multiple airbags provide a safe haven during an accident.

Power, luxury, design and technology combine to make the 2010 Jaguar XK a supremely desirable two-seat ride.
