Redefining what a bad-… GT-R should be

If we could back in time to about the automotive world would be a different place. Although great cars existed, was a gap that needed to be filled. A gap in the American market, that is.

is a car that today is a staple of a car that all sports cars and super cars are compared and this car wasn’t even to US customers for over 40 years. In you haven’t picked up on it, I’m about the Nissan Skyline known now in the latest generation as the GT-R.

This AWD turbocharged vehicle onto the scene in a display of unadulterated ridiculousness. The GT-R is nimble, and reliable as well, not many supercars can claim. Now you get all in a fuss, the GT-R doesn’t as a supercar and I’m not calling it but the performance figures certainly up to the best of the best.

Everyone notice of this new beast Japan and it was aptly nicknamed in a positive light. Every JDM fan dreams now existed, and could be the right price. The GT-R is not and modifying them is not either.

But thankfully, there are people out like Ricky Kwan who the bullet and make it happen, and boy has he something awesome happen

The racecar stuff doesn’t on the outside of the car. Inside and his guys over at his shop, The Tuning have fabricated a FIA rollcage and equipped the car with all safety equipment for competition Weight reduction has been in a major way, carbon-fiber trunk lid, and roof have been installed to the heavy OEM parts.

This car really is ready for Both passenger and driver are in place by carbon Sparco Racing seats and Schroth and the steering wheel has been with a custom Sparco The dashboard remains in place, but pretty much the only that isn’t removed or from the interior.

Ricky has set up a firewall and custom fuel because you guessed it, this car is for track.

The performance of the Nissan is incredible straight out of the box, but as we there is always room for A Switzer P800 turbo kit has chosen because Ricky this kit is proven and reliable, and makes a modest amount of It’s not a setup that crazy numbers to brag but it’s reliable, and that’s a part of making a good car.

With that in mind, added a HKS downpipe and resonated to aid in flow, and the car is equipped with a center-exit exhaust. The exhaust great and actually flows nicely with the super the-top BenSopra bodywork. also went a step in the pursuit of racecar reliability kind of an oxymoron, but you know I mean) by insisting on a custom system.

This setup consists of an intercooler, twin core cooler, an oversized power cooler, extra large and oversized oil cooler. Pretty huh? (Get it?!) A AP005 handles EMS duties and has tuned to perfection by Ricky’s over at SP Engineering. The drivetrain of the is stock for the time being, as it has not any problems or needed upgrading.

also worth noting the car starts up normally with the key and button; no crazy launch needed here.

At the end of the day, I myself just staring at car. It looks incredible, and there are a few things about it are not pure race, it really matter. Ricky is not a racing he’s one guy (who does own a shop), but this car is not necessarily a racecar…yet. That’s the plan to Ricky, he says the car needs more work but that he to compete in wheel-to-wheel racing it in the near future.

We can’t wait for that to but Ricky please! Don’t this thing into a it’s so beautiful!
