2007 Chrysler Pacifica Review

The Pacifica is a midsize CUV that was first introduced for 2004. Blurring the line between SUV and minivan, it#8217;s designed as the ultimate family hauler. With easy entry steps, and three rows of fold-flat seats, the Pacifica brings a whole new level of convenience.

What#8217;s New For 2007:

The Pacifica receives a major revision for 2007. A new V6 engine comes standard, as well as a new six-speed transmission. Most of the exterior, including the front fascia, wheels, and grille have been restyled.

The instrument panels have been revised for better readability.

What is the Predicted Reliability:

J.D. Power gives the Pacifica 2 stars for mechanical and design quality, and 2.5 stars for performance and design. Reported issues include nonfunctional switches, engine noise, failing remote starters, and difficult steering. It#8217;s been recalled three times for stalling, incorrectly manufactured fuel lines, and flaky headlights. Expect above average reliability.

The basic warranty lasts for three years or 36,000 miles.

The GMC Envoy has 90 more hp, but costs over $2,000 more and lacks side airbags. The Hyundai Santa Fe includes 40 more hp and standard AWD, but costs over $1,000 more. The Mitsubishi Outlander costs $800 less and adds in a CD changer, but has a slightly smaller engine.

What Others Are Saying:

#8220;Buying a Pacifica is one of those rare instances where you really can have it all (assuming you have a spare $30k): the comfort of a luxury sedan, the practicality of a minivan and the psychological security of an SUV.#8221; #8211; The Truth About Cars

#8220;The Chrysler Pacifica offers a lot of tech for making traveling more comfortable, but its mediocre mileage calls for a fat wallet.#8221; #8211; C|Net
