I have a 2006 Forenza with 41,000 miles on it. It was purchased brand new in January 2007. The timing belt broke this week and I had it towed to the only authorized dealer in town.

I was told by the service manager that he could tell the car was well cared for as the engine was very clean. He said that he would have to get approval from the district. Read More

I have quite a few complaints about my 2006 Suzuki Forenza. No wonder the filed chapter 11. 1. All the interior door handles have snapped off. Good luck fining inexpensive replacements!

2. I had to have the transmission range switch replaced at less than 50,000 miles. Of course this HAD to be done at the dealership. 3. I am not able to shift without using the shift override.

4. The struts. Read More

I feel you guys’ pain, but you have to remember something: the Forenza was actually an old Daewoo design from Korea that was badge-engineered for Suzuki by then parent old GM. The Daewoo model was originally designed back when Korean cars were mostly cheap, not as reliable as Japanese cars, but offered a lot of features for the money (just as in earlier Hyundais and Kias). Daewoo did not keep up. Read More

I have 2006 Suzuki Forenza with 52000 miles on it. I have had to replace the gas cap several times because the check engine light comes on. Struts cost over 500, and now I was driving 60 miles a hour and the car sounded like it went into neutral, then the next day I was driving 40 miles a hour and it went into neutral 3 different times again.

My wife drives a 2006 Suzuki Forenza with about 110k miles. About 2 weeks ago she got into the car and when she turned on the ignition the driver side airbag deployed out of the seat! The car was in park. It hurt her eardrum and now we have a car with a screwed up driver seat and faulty airbags.

Thank God she wasn’t on the highway when this happened. She. Read More

I have a 2006 Suzuki Forenza, and have had to replace all of the struts. I see now that other people are having the same issue. This shouldn’t be happening already.

Suzuki needs to recall these struts or give out refunds on this crappy car.

We bought our 2006 Forenza as a pre-owned in March 2008. Took it to our trusted mechanic last week for state inspection and he said (and showed me) that the front shock/strut assembly seems to be defective. The mounting brackets are broken. In addition the shocks were leaking. He said he would be happy to fix it for us but advised to talk to Suzuki first about a possible recall.

it may very well be that the entire throttle body has to be changed out to correct this condition. I would use a great deal of caution and make sure everything is documented and that you receive all old parts. I can’t say enough about covering your own interests when it comes to Suzuki. From what I’ve heard it’s been a real problem keeping the GM/Daewoo parts in stock, GM isn’t supported its end of the bargain with supplying Suzuki with sufficient parts for these Daewoo vehicles. Fortunately Suzuki decided not to continue to allow GM to dump these Daewoo cars on the Suzuki lots and place Suzuki emblems on them.
