So the wife is looking for a used car to finance, she emailed me this, what do yout think about this car? Any good? is the price reasonable? Opinions please.

Hi drivers,

I have following situation with buying the used car:

On Wednesday 27th I choose the vehicle in the

Chesswood Automobile Wholesalers

(Dealer # 4509865, 4457 Chesswood dr. Downsview M3J 2C2 )

The initial vehicle price was $6999 (Mazda Protege).

The sale person refused in the drive test for me, because car was not ready for the sale, didnt have emission and safety tests and explained that they will prepare car after purchase.

When I checked the vehicle and started to discuss the price with sale person, sales person told me that this price is valid for financing only and the actual price is $7500.

When I agreed with this new price, sales person informed me that there are also

retail package ($350), administration fee ($250), license fee($45) and fuel ($10)

When I agreed on these payments, sales person informed me about optional 3-year extended warranty ($299) and mandatory payment for plates and sticker(

$150) .

I remember that sales person left room some times and clarified car and additional prices with another sale person and sale manager.

Another sales person confirmed the total car price, signed the Vehicle Purchase Agreement (reg. No 4879219). I signed the VPA also, left the deposit ($500) and agreed with sales person that I will make the cheque for the total remaining sum and sale person will prepare car and pass emission/safety tests and car registration in the Ministry until Friday.

On Friday 29th I prepared certified cheque and called to clarify car status. The sales person informed me that all is OK, but there was not enough time for the car registration in the ministry.

On Tuesday August 2nd, morning, I bought the car insurance for this car.

At afternoon I received phone call from the dealer and was informed that sales manager decided that price for the car is very low and if I want to receive car I must add $500.

I tried to discuss this additional new payment with sales person, sales manager, but without any progress. The result was the same, I must pay $500 if I want to receive car.

What do you recommend me in this situation?

Sorry for language, Ive prepared this letter for the complain on Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council website and sending to APA, UCDA, TADA.

Thank you for your help.
