1998 Volvo S70 T5 / Selling as parts car – $1600 (Charleston)

1998 Volvo S70 T5 odometer: 163865 automatic transmission

$1,600 OBO Yes, it runs and you can drive it home, but running on 4 of 5 cylinders (Just drove it from James Island to Park West in Mount Pleasant). This car has never left me stranded. It will still get up and go when you engage the turbo even now.

Very recent timing belt, serpentine belt, a/c evaporator, new battery, new tires, and oil change

163, 865 miles / Title says miles in excess, but when I bought the car there was less than a 200 mile discrepancy according to the CarFax report and mechanics felt that someone checked the wrong box on the title

Moon Roof, auto transmission (adjustable winter, economy, and sport modes button), A/C (Dual climate control), am/fm cd cassette player, power windows, power locks (though they appear to be possessed at times), heated power mirrors, heated dual power seats with settings on driver’s side, and tilt/telescopic steering wheel. Everything still works, except door locks sometimes don’t unlock all doors. Have original manuals and all maintenance records from the time I purchased it 8/6/05.

I am the second owner of the car.

Extra parts include seat section of leather from another Volvo, lightly used plug wires and ignition wires (they were fairly new and I changed those before taking it to the shop), gasket, etc.

I took the car to Rick Hendrick Volvo who diagnosed it as the air pump and then I took it to Reputable Volvo who said Cylinder One had no compression. I have a code reader and when I clear the check engine light it says Cylinder 1 misfire. A couple other things to note, has very, very minor leak from radiator, the car has never run hot and operates at normal temperature, but you have to add coolant every so often and the light will come on to let you know when it is slightly low.

Tracs light on because the ABS module needs to be repaired (easy to do for shade tree mechanic. You can send it away for repair for $70). The brakes still work fine, you just don’t have ABS. Woodgrain on center console cracked, front seats have wear, and passenger front door makes popping sound when you open it (hinge needs to be welded), driver’s window can come slightly off track and you sometimes have to put it all the way down before putting it back up, but it always works, and paint chipped/cracked on rear bumper.

I have tried to be honest and up front about everything in order to avoid needless calls. Again, being sold as parts car $1,600 OBO cash.
