For Sale: 1985 Toyota Century

Condition: Good overall condition. Excellent (I believe) interior, jSpec plastic still on doors.

Engine: 5V – 4.0L Pushrod Hemi-style V8. 3spd auto.

Kilometres: 199,591 Genuine to the best of my knowledge.

Price and conditions: #036;2700 . I believe this is a fair price considering the condition and issues, which someone with more time, money and contacts can rectify fairly easily.

Extra Info: Purchased it 2003 off eBay from a guy who was the 2nd owner in Australia, who bought it off the owner who brought it here as a personal import.

It unfortunately has a few dings and scratches which need to be fixed, along with varying degrees of rust in different places such as under the windscreen, bottom of LHS front door, guard etc.

It has been off the road for a year as I was planning to get it repaired and resprayed but unfortunately Life and the Universe has put paid to that pipe dream of mine (i.e. I can#39;t smegging afford it .

As many of the long time members know, I absolutely LOVE this car to death and have had a fantastic time with it, so it is with great sadness that I have to do this. Aside from a few issues, it drives like a dream and you can very easily find yourself in Ticket Territory in it. It has completed a Brisbane – Wagga Wagga – Sydney – Brisbane trip in mid 2004 with flying colours especially since it was fully loaded to the brim with stuff after my Dad shuffled from his mortal coil, along with numerous trips to Mackay.

I will include a copy of the EPC to help the buyer get part numbers to use for part hunting (which can be hard).

Issues:

The aircon/demister system doesn#39;t work due to a missing fan speed resistor (or something similar) which was missing when I bought it.

The front LHS window doesn#39;t wind down, I suspect it needs a new spring for the winder assembly but I#39;ve never been able to find one. The same goes for the rear RHS quarter glass.

It needs some front suspension work done, I#39;m not exactly sure what, I suspect bushes, although it has a reconditioned steering rack and tie rods plus ends, which was done in mid-late 2006.

Standard stereo is included but does not work.

Contact Details: Post here or PM.

Location: Northgate, Brisbane.

Delivery Conditions of Delivery . Pick up. Car is running but unregistered. You will still need a car trailer as it#39;s not roadworthy. Shipping interstate at buyers expense and organisation.

Pictures: Click my signature to visit my website. Some of the pictures are from 2003 when I bought it, others are from across the years. Check the other galleries on my site as there are other pictures in those.

I will get some current condition pictures ASAP.

Even though I do not want to farewell the best piece of my motoring history, it NEEDS to go as I don#39;t see that I can give it the TLC it deserves any time soon. Also, with the immobiliser system shitting itself on the Pulsar after 4 years and approx. 11,000kms, I need some money badly.

I WILL NOT be parting it out.

I will add more details as I think of them.

Cheers, Matt
