1969 Opel GT

These are selling as a set: Three vehicles all for the low price of 1700.

1969 Opel GT. Originally had a rare 1.1 but was replaced with a 1.9. Engine was running when it was hit from behind. Bought as a parts car because of significant unibody damage in the back end. Interior is so-so.

No parts have been removed, car is as found. Nothing particularly special about it, was apparently a late-model 1969 so doesn’t have any of the 1968-ish features (like flat place under the back license plate, etc) although it has the rare Red interior color. Only thing interesting is that it was one of only 342 1.1 engine GTs brought to the US.

Unfortunately, doesn’t have the 1.1 in it anymore because someone put a 1.9 in it. Damn rascals.

1970 Opel GT. 1.9 (1900) nice, straight body. Engine top end was disassembled by previous owner and I was given pretty much all old parts, a lot of new parts (gaskets, things), and some extra stuff like wiring diagrams and GT Source catalog. Interior needs redo, but exterior looks good enough.

Easiest way to get it going is to just put the 1.9 from the 1969 into it. Has a crack in the windshield. which is why I bought the 1972:

1972 Opel GT parts car has been disassembled. Remaining: good windshield (reason I bought it), both doors, entire front end (clip) includes really nice fog lights, front bumper), front suspension, steering column, dashboard and gauges. Has two engines – one a 1.9 that came out of it, and the other LOOKS like a 1.9 but it is slightly different. It has a different valve cover and is fuel injected. I’m not sure what it was, it came with the car, may be a 1.9 from a later or different Opel model.

Has two transmissions (both attached to their respective engines) and two rear ends (presumably one goes with the fuel injected engine/trans). This opel has good floor pans and I tried to cut it in such a way that they could be used in another car.

So you have a nice 1970 body, a 1969 that runs but is hit in the back, and a huge pile of spare parts to fix this thing up to your heart’s content. (do you know what Katamari Damacy is? This is a Katamari of Opel!!)I had a lot of ideas about fixing it, but the hassle I’m getting from the family over parking space is making my life hell and I just don’t have time to get to this.

I’m not in some crazy mood to sell it for scrap, though, so don’t call and make me foolish offers on it. When these cars are fixed, they are awesome. You could put a V8 into it as many people have and have an amazing vehicle. You have a lot of extra parts you could sell on ebay.

Some people think they look like mini corvettes, but I think the back end looks exactly like a Ferrari Dino.

Please call or text if possible

WILL NOT SEPARATE – however, I might be persuaded to sell some of the spare loose parts so if you need something like a door or window glass I might be able to help you out. Will not sell the Weber carbs, the engine I know runs, or the one windshield.

Been asked a few times and none of the dashboards are that great. They all have some cracks in them.
