This is the car I had posted for feedback polishing the raw aluminum. The car has painted that had been painted 6 weeks ago and then were in plastic by the guy who transported them..big

The history on this car is cool. to 1936, Morgan made 3 cars with 2 wheels up driven by a sideways V engine (a JAP and a single wheel in the back. was the first year for 4 wheeled from Morgan.

This one is by the Morgan factory as serial

I started doing a bit of disassembly to taking the before shots. My restored this car and is taking it to an to sell. He removed the windscreens and I did the at the back. Here are the before when I did them:

Polishing the Raw

This was a real education for me. I never tried polishing raw before. My father had taken steel wool to it and there a lot of marks in it. The other issue was

I had the weekend to do it but most of it was already for.

I planned to treat it rough paint, namely with M105 and either a B S pad or wool. The yellow pad did nothing turn black. I then up to wool and the surface turned The problem I experienced is that the was inconsistent. What I mean by is that one section would the oxidization wipe right off another it wouldn’t budge.

After trying some things, I discovered a trick worked: Varsol and a terry After doing a section 105 and black TB wool, I would a section of terry towel and the area down and then dry it a mf. That worked every I tried also using metal wax with a foam

I was disappointed in its outcome. The best came from using 105 wool followed by 205 and my purple wool, both with wipedowns. The sections did not all look the

My issue was time. If I had another 20 to work on this car, I have done a 2 stage wet refining the surface prior to The car had to go to the next stage of its restoration on morning so that was not to be. As it was I stayed up to 4 am on morning and then got back on it at and worked till 11 am.

It was gone by I got 11 hours into it, that’s

Sealing in the work:

Permanon. is a spray sealant that bonds when it is sprayed a surface. I’ll explain the cool chemistry behind it I do my future review, but for now just it instantly bonds with the it is sprayed onto.

So, after polishing, I immediately the area with Permanon in a pump spray bottle and wiped the area down a ww drying mf. The surface was slick, repellent and resisted finger better. (they just off easily rather than the surface like they before).

Here is a 50/50 of me seeing what would on the aluminum:

The got M105 and a brand new yellow B S pad by M205 and a white B S pad followed by a B S pad with Ultrafina (Heath, I got a bit left, LOL). All polishing was with my Dyna except for the front fenders which my UDM due to the lack of space. I need to an eye out for a Griot’s sale on their 3 polisher! The paint was then with CQ applied with and mf.

This was then topped later with DG nano via UDM at 4 with black foam LCC

Wheels Chrome:

I used my mix (haha) of DG 501/601/Beta Polish on the wheels and centre chrome The wheels were powder on this car and it really helped amp up the on them. The chrome headlights and markers got the same as did the exposed pieces up front.

Tires:

The rear tires are visible on this car and they to look great. I dressed all the on the car with Forever Black gel dye to blacken them up. The sheen was not after they dried so were subsequently dressed DG 281.

That really them look great
